Well...I just put in my two weeks notice.

I didn't know you could make money selling guitars. Those dudes I see coming out of Guitar Center on their smoking breaks look like they just woke up and rolled out of bed.

You're going to the wrong store. Guitar Center is the Wal Mart of guitar shops. Don't go in there expecting any sort of knowledgable help and don't expect them to fix any problems you have with anything. It's how they operate. When they first opened, they were told "Don't lose a sale...ever." Now they're hurting for money and they're fixing to go to a fixed pricing structure. They've really hurt themselves. /End rant. :o

Congrats, That happened to me in 2006. I was Managing a Store for 5 years, when a great offer came along. I moved from Ohio to Florida. Now, it was one of the Best Decisions I've ever made. It might seem like you won't enjoy the job as much, but the Pay Raise and benies are really going to look good when you have that new home and everything. Even if you don't like the job as much.

Dude, if it was...I would totally stand outside all day long covered in *****s to bring in customers. :o

So, what is the new business you'll be working in? What kind of store are you going to be managing, Mr. Secrecy?

I did meet a Guitar Center guy who explained to me why in the 90's I used to be able to get a totally sweet sounding $300 Epiphone and now every guitar they sell that's under $1,500 sounds and feels like utter crap. :)

He also helpfully showed me that if I wanted that sweet old sound of a $300 90's Epiphone, my best bet was the $5,000 80's Les Paul they had for sale. :)

Those guys do my job for me. :D
