Deadpool's foe - way back from the good ol' Workshop days. Who would you like to see as Ajax, aka Francis?

Joel Edgerton?

I'd say an actor who has the acting chops to pull off a vile fiend, but can also be physically imposing to Reynolds. For some reason Patrick Wilson is entering my mind, so maybe if he beefed up a bit, he might pull it off.

Oh, I got one! Joe Manganiello! Look him up and just look at that forehead. Can't you just see it sporting 'FRANCIS?'

Good choice. I wonder if Wyre and Garrison Kane are still in this.

I hope Kane makes an appearance in this or in a sequel. I always thought he was an awesome character, even if the whole "detachable hands" thing is pretty silly.

After what I've seen in that CC teaser, I think Kane could work. Nothing seems impossible in Wade's world!

Throw in Gregory Terraerton aka Slayback. :cwink:

I guess this is the closest thing to an Ed Skrein IS Ajax thread. Anyway, I thought he did great. His character's storyline was pretty thin, but I thought Ed played a particularly vicious a**hole and the fight scenes with him and Deadpool were epic. Hopefully this will open up some doors for him as an actor because that whole leaving/being forced of Game of Thrones and starring in a Transporter reboot thing really made him look bad.

I thought he was fine, not going to claim he was some great villain as he wasnt, this was all about the Pool and X-Men but he what he did have to do was fine and was menacing enough in the transformation scenes especially. I'm glad he kept it simple and didnt go over the top hammy with the performance, rather he kept it bland and not stand out than try too hard.

Also as a throw away bad guy it meant they could actually have the pay off of DP killing him and nobody will complain he isnt going to return.

I liked him as a villain more on my 2nd viewing, at times he can comes across really menacing, especially in the torture scenes, and he was a match for Deadpool physically as well and I loved both of their fights in the movie. He wasn't a great villain by any means, but on my first viewing I thought he was throwaway, but I appreciated him more on my 2nd viewing and enjoyed the performance more too.

He was a weak villain, but it wasn't a big deal. You didn't need someone to take away from Reynolds as Deadpool. He was a serviceable villain but not a particularly good or memorable one.

Nothing against Ed Skrein, but he's yet to really impress me. The Transporter reboot was awful.

Probably the weakest villain(who wasn't already in a ***t-pile of a movie like Doom was in Fant4stic) I've seen in a CBM in quite a while. Not sorry [Blackout]he's dead[/Blackout] as there must be loads of better bad guys to use in the sequel. I mean, what exactly were his powers anyway? How does feeling nothing allow you to survive such wounds? How does it give him super strength in order to throat-lift that guy at the beginning? I mean, I can understand how he can hit harder and push his body more than an ordinary person because he can't feel anything so he has no fear of injuring himself(just like that 007 villain in The World Is Not Enough). But injuries would still have an effect even if you don't feel them and lifting a weight that's too heavy doesn't suddenly become possible because you can't feel it. Oh well, I had a lot of little nitpicks with this movie but it didn't ruin it or anything. I liked it a lot.

Carano's Angel Dust made a better impression as the hulking henchwoman so I'm glad she still lived.

I thought they did a good job of making him extremely unlikable through the torture scene. He's not a powerhouse player, but he was exactly what we needed him to be in this movie.

Oh he's serviceable for sure. It's just that he seems to basically be an up-jumped(for you GoT fans) henchman masquerading as a boss. As one and done's go he's fine.

Same, he made you dislike him and want Deadpool to beat him/ take him out. He was really menacing in the torture scenes, especially when he carried on torturing Wade once his mutation activated simply because he wanted to.

And the first confrontation between Deadpool and him on the freeway was badass, with him simply not caring about 'Pool.

Yeah that was great, it as the one time DP had the upper hand over him.

If you read the leaked script,
there were scenes there that let you know he was exactly that. I can see why they cut them though.

I liked Francis. He was good enough. His powers were a bit undefined, but I worked it out in my head to work. Like he doesn't feel pain and has quick reflexes, got it. But he also displayed super strength. I had to reason that if we had no pain receptors, we'd be freakishly strong. Though damaged quickly, maybe.

I did have a problem with him not bleeding to death, especially since he has no pain to warn him of his damaged body. Bugged me, but not that much.
