Wesley Snipes has met with Marvel

How are we supposed to cast her if we have no idea what the character is actually like? Should we just list our favourite young, black actresses who aren't in the MCU yet?

Well if you go online we get a rough description:

"“Blade’s daughter is 16-year-old Fallon Grey,” Seeley reveals. “She’s a sort of ‘anti-Peter Parker.’ She’s popular, she’s well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that’s before she learns she’s the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire.”

New interview. he's held more talk's with Marvel about Blade.

"There's always a possibility, you know. It's in Marvel's hands. They're controlling the pace and the flow with that. Conversations have been good. They see the value in it. We see the value in it," Snipes said.

"I'm still in shape enough and fit enough to handle the role. We'll see how it goes. I don't really know what's going to happen to it yet."

When host Zerlina Maxwell asked whether Snipes would be interested in integrating Blade's character into the "Avengers" film franchise, the actor considered the idea.
"That would be interesting. I mean, I know it's in the comic book. It would be interesting to see where they would place him and where he really would fit in," he said. "He's got to bite somebody. I don't know who he's going to bite."

I thought I just saw Snipes in an ad during MNF for some show. It could be seen as a bit of an audition for Marvel to show he's still got it.

I love the idea of having Snipes reprising his role as Blade. I think it would also be great if Marvel makes a Midnight Sons movie with Blade, Dr. Strange, Moon Knight, and Ghost Rider.

The desperation pouring off of Snipes is palpable. For God's sake, man, just move on.

The last thing the MCU needs is to adopt old films and/or characters that were never meant to be a part of it.

When Blade is introduced to the new Marvel universe, it will be new and different and the way Marvel wants to do it.

It certainly won't be a retread of a tired, old portrayal by a tired, old actor who just doesn't know when he's had his day.

Bro obviously they're interested if both parties are still talking. It might not have got to the let's announce a new Blade movie stage but there is interest there.

"They see the value in it. We see the value in it,"

This line tells you all you need to know.

Probably is wishful thinking but damn I'd sure love Snipes returning to the role and the character being in the MCU!

And yet Snipes and Tom Cruise are the same age. So it's a good thing that your opinion as it were isn't a fact or relatively popular.

I'm on board with Snipes playing the role again as are many.

Isn't there issues with using an actor to play the same part in a different movie? I heard that they'd have to automatically give the former producers credit and salary.

For all the people who are against Snipes reprising Blade I have one thing to say: WHY NOT! Snipes was an excellent Blade, the failure of Blade Trinity was not Snipes but poor Directorial choices, trying to push the Night stalkers to set up a spin off movie when they should have focused on Blade, a poor version of Dracula and various other problems.

It would be easy to link the Blade Movies to the MCU, here is how I would do it:

- We start with Fallon Grey, most popular kid in school but feels like something is missing as she has never met her father.
- Vampires turn up trying to take Fallon (She is a Vampire Hybrid).
- Blade saves her, explains how Vampires are on the verge of extinction (e.g. Daystalker, him hunting them) and that the remains have a temporary cure for Daystalker but it has side effects (must be continuously injected etc. This would also allow some room to redesign the look of the Vampires if marvel wished) which is why they are after Fallon (that and being Daywalkers).
- Blade agrees to train Fallon so that she can defend herself, along the way she learns that Blade is her father and has been watching her from afar.
- Cue various action scenes etc. Where Blade is kidnapped and the Vampires get the cure, Fallon rescues Blade.

Any Vampiric villain would do, we could also incorporate Hydra and Fury into this movie to tie in.

Possible Blade Sequel Villains? Who would you guys like to see? In the the new comics it will be the "Black Genus" whatever they are.

While Blade Trinity indeed had poor directional choices, Snipes' behaviour in response to this was very immature and only made the situation worse.

Also, I personally just don't like the idea of either an actor playing the same role in a distinct universe, or retroactively placing movies into canon.

Snipes's behaviour was not I agree not great although we can see where he was coming from as it was clear the director was more interested in launching a nightstalkers movie than a Blade movie. Your second point would be in my opinion be easy to address (Virus kills most Vampires and Blade feels useless as he feels he has no purpose).

I kinda like this. I would take a step further and use Dr. Strange as a jumping off point for the next blade. As a result of the events of Dr. Strange, a demonic entity slips between worlds and seeks out one of the remaining few vampires as a host. Combined with this new force, a new more powerful vampirism spreads, thrusting a lost, weary Blade and his daughter back into the fight against evil.

Hmmm not sure about demonic force from Dr strange, I think Hydra could play a role as they are experimenting with Vampires (Project Silvereye), through the project Hydra are trying to create a lasting cure for Daystalker (at the moment the vampires can only stay alive through constant use of drugs/chemicals with side effects), they can then control and build a fighting force of vampires. They would need Blade or he's daughter for the cure.

I don't know about Blade feeling useless, but they did have a Kill Off All Vampires Event in the Marvel Universe, when Doctor Strange and the Helsing gang did the Darkhold ritual.

This is not the comic book Blade but the Blade from the movies, in the movies Blade's enemy is vampirism, he hates vampires for what they did to he's mother and what they turned him into, if you watch Blade trininty their is a scene when Hannibal King is talking to Blade asking him what would he do when all the Vampires are dead. In the movie we could see Blade chasing every lead on Vampires with most being rumours without foundation.

Another point on what happened in the comics is that their were plenty of other supernatural threats for Blade to take on, as of now their are none.

I think Hydra D.O.A as the villain might be good, with them experimenting creating various monstrous creatures (e.g. Morbius maybe werewolf by night and possibly others).
