Um... what age is the kid now, anyway? I ask because when reading some comics, I noticed that he was at school, thinking very smartly, looked fairly mature etc.

A few issues later, Mark Waid and Weringo took over.

Franklin was like 3 years younger and yelling "DADDDDYYY!!!!"

Now don't get me wrong, I am an ENORMOUS fan of the Waid era, one of my favourites in comicdom. But um... what the hell age is Franklin supposed to be 'now' (during Civil War) anyway?

Frankie should have his own family by now.

Yeah, I hate how they have locked him down at toddler age again. I think during Carlos Pacheco and Rafael Marin's run on the FF they at least put him in a private academy in the suburbs of New York. Then again I am pretty sure in Marvel Knights 4 there was a story showing his birthday party and he had turned 7 (?).

Waid did eventually bring him up a bit in age. After "Unthinkable" he had to go to a child psychologist after he cursed out some bystanders at an amusement park (he had issues with suppressed rage and images of what he saw down in Hell). So he has learned to say more than just "bye bye".

Nope. The accident that created the FF is always approximately 10 years ago. As Stan instructed the Marvel staff in the early 70's (paraphrasing):
"Up until now, we've had change; now we want the illusion of change."

And that's pretty much what we've had ever since.

Worried about Reed and Sue splitting up? Don't be. Sue went as far as filing divorce papers once before, and that was in 1974.

Sorry that the Vision and Hawkeye are "dead?"
Just wait a few years; a decade, tops.

Franklin will probably never be a teenager, unless it suits someone temporarily running things at Marvel. But it can all be retconned in a moment.

My take: He's about 7 and a half.

Here is the interesting thing he should be at least 10 as the Marvel universe has gone for about 12 years and he didn't exist supposedly for the first "two" years of it. So he should now be at least 10 then.

I've always heard 10 years; where'd you get 12?

It be if he was a teen so he could go off with the young avengers.

I recall his Wikipedia entry says around 10. And it also says that with his psionic abilities, it's possible for him to remain physically 10 but chronologically old, or slow ageing (like Sprite the Eternal).

He doesn't have any powers anymore now, though.

You think that state of affairs will last? Or are they just suppressed? He is/was supposed to be an Omega-class mutant.

the marvel universe is over ten years old because peter parker has been spider-man for ten years. the FF came before him, so there.

Franklin was part of the Power Pack. At that time Franklin and Katie were 5, Jack was 8, Julie was 10, and Alex was 12. Alex was in the New Warriors as an adult years ago and Julie is now older although I don't know what age if any they have given her. But Franklin is still about the same age?
