What are your hobbies?

I pretty much sit around the house. I'll sometimes watch the turtles in thier tank, and every once in a while I'll look at the books on the bookshelf.

And I play football occasionally.

Mine are playing games and MMO's and such. I also write movie reviews for fun since I just enjoy writing.

Mine are:

Collecting DVDs & BluRays
Collecting Action Figures (specifically G.I.Joe)
Video Games

-Collecting books, comics, and films.
-Writing (I am hoping it will become my profession or at least a component of it in the future, but, right now I am 7,ooo words away from completing the novel, and have the next two mapped out.)
-Writing and directing films. First film was an official adaptation of the King story "One for the Road." Next one is going to be a retelling of the The Hound of the Baskervilles, once I work out the finances.
-Collecting select action figures, memoribilia, and antiques. I go through phases: this past summer, I collected most of the costume cards from the MCU films.
-Playing video games.
-Attending author lectures: thus far, the only ones are King and Gaiman.
-Hiking/exploring the area backroads where I live.
-Visit historical sites or places of interest. Three years ago, I visited the grave of the man who inspired me to pursue writing and I left flowers, as a symbolic thank-you. From talking with friends, I have to concluded that finding Poe's grave is as difficult as finding Lovecraft's. Needless to say, I did not have a fun time in Baltimore. My next trip is Terrytown, NY. I want to go one of the lantern tours.

Have you had the chance to visit the Alamo yet? They have torn down most of it's walls and it looks like a restaurant now :( Twas still interesting to see it in person though.

Drawing mostly. I feel like I get better each time I draw something, but I always feel like there's something I can improve upon in each picture.

-video games
-working out
-hanging with friends
-reading
-photography
- writing music and literature

Running
Hiking
Whitewater Rafting/Kayaking
Exploring
Geyser Gazing

LOL, Immortalfire!!

I have some totally lame-o hobbies. I crochet, and am currently teaching myself how to knit from this old book from the 70's. :oldrazz:

I like reading books of all sorts, and have even tried my hand at writing, but can't get anything finished.

I used to draw all the time, mainly traditional works, but then I branched out into digital. But I never have any time for that anymore... :csad:

And I listen to music almost constantly ^_^

Making bad jokes about traditions I don't like to follow
Comic books
Eye tests

I read a lot of books (mostly fantasy or literature) and read comic books. I also watch a lot of TV and movies (my favorite TV shows right now are Boardwalk Empire, the Walking Dead, Homeland, Dexter, and Fringe).

I like to play video games but rarely online. I've tried playing say Red Dead Redemption online but everyone else is too good. I was better at Max Payne 3's online when I rented it for a couple of days, probably because it's only been out for six months.

I like to write and draw.

I like to go hiking with my dogs.

I quit drinking forever just recently. It feels great, but now there's a great big depressing hole were my 'hobbies' used to be. :hehe:

I'm currently filling it with TV, books, and a worrying addiction to wasting time online.

Last edited:

Bowling

I used to do more (Stepmania, Counter-Strike, drawing/sketching, etc), but I just don't have the time.

You ever go to Richmond, VA? I used to work at a little VFX house that was located two blocks from a cool little Poe museum.

I thought this was a new thread until I saw Wilhelm posting. Then I saw how old it really was.

Anyhow. My main hobby is writing novels. I've finished 4 and have released 2 on Amazon (in my sig). The 4th is in the editing stages.

Also, I geocache. It's basically a worldwide scavenger hunt and is a lot of fun that most anyone can do. Look up your town at geocaching.com and see whats around you. Note: once you've entered your zip code, drop the "play" tab and select the map. It's easier to get an idea of where they are. There's around 160 geocaches hidden in my home town alone.
