Well I'm sure the Blade fans have had some time to digest episode 2. I taped the episode earlier and kind of glanced at it. I haven't had time to truly sit down and watch it. I was curious to see how Blade vs. Fritz part 2 was going to go. It still seems that Jones is not looking impressive in his fight scenes...what did everyone else think?

They played it twice in a row. It's still on now on the west coast. I liked it. It's not as action packed as the movies it goes more into the Underworld side of things which is awesome. I'm getting used to Kirk's voice and the fact that this isn't aciton from start to finish. I'm happy with it, I'm liking the characters, and it's a cool TV show. Not "24" good but it's good.

I thought it was pretty good for what it was..

Too many people keep comparing this to the 50-60 million dollar films. This 1 hr episode probalby cost 750k at the most. I'm eating all the dialogue and characters up. It's cool and free entertainment. What pisses me off is Goyer talking about making more Blade feature films and he doesn't mention Snipes but says New Line really likes Biels and Reynolds. What a joke!

Asshat.

Same here, I liked it, and instead of further making us dislike the movies, I say that take this, and turn it further into something we love. As of right now, many think it's good, but not great, the opposite fo the direction the movies were going since trinity. Hopefully they keep going in this direction.

I thought it was better than the pilot. I like the ash story. Looks like that will be the theme of this season.

I have to admit, I find reason to watch it, if only for Jill "spank me!" Wagner and Jessica Gower. Chase is one mean b***h!!

I liked the storyline about the ash dealer, and I think it'll make for an interesting subplot. I just love Marcu Van Sciver. You almost wanna root for the guy.

I'm actually surprised at how bloody they're letting the show be!
When they showed Krista getting impaled on that broken wood post, my jaw dropped.

I watched episode 2 without interruptions last night. I agree that this episode was much better than the pilot. I was suprised to see the Cop again. I honestly thought he was the crooked cop scapegoat and never expected to see him again. It should be interesting to see what happens as he makes his way back to Detroit. I have a feeling he may become a thorn in the side of Blade and Marcus. The ash storyline is interesting it will most likely be a recurring theme of the season. I am disappointed that they killed off Fritz. I had hoped the rivalry between Blade and Fritz would continue throughout the season. I liked that scene when Marcus put Fritz in his place. I didn't think that Marcus was much of a physical threat until that scene.

Episode 2 was better than the pilot. Fritz getting killed so soon was the only issue I had with it. I like the fact that Blade and Marcus are tracking the ash dealer. I am wondering who will get to him first. Jill looked very hot in that bathrobe. Nice use of eye candy.

i thought the 2nd episode was just as good as the first. Marcus is definitely a physical threat. and does Marcus know that Krista's been taking the serum?

I was actually pretty bored. Show just isn't that compelling.

it's a lot better than the craptastic reality tv shows they have on now days.

As a Big Blade fan I have to say this show is growing on me. The pilot and the 2nd ep is not that bad. I see they let a lot go in this show so far so good.

I thought the pilot was pretty bad, but the second episode was an improvement. I like the plot. A drug that can turn all vamps into super-powerful daywalkers is pretty interesting. Neil Jackson is doing a pretty good job as the obligatory smarmy, euro-trash vamp leader. Jill Wagner's doing a better job than I expected her to. Shen's actually entertaining to watch. The main problem right now is that I just can't believe Jones as Blade.

Personally, I think it's turning out to be pretty freakin' great. In fact, I made a comment to my watching commitee (friends) last night that I believe it's actually taking TV up a notch with it's visuals, story and gore. Great stuff!

Also, I believe that once people get past the initial shock of not seeing Wes in the role, they'll be more open to Kirk's performance. I think he's doing a great job and he's starting to find his character/voice more with each passing moment.

This series is going to last. So watch it!

I love that Marcus is actually more of a threat then he appears to be. That's great!

Yea, im really enjoying this show. I was a little bit worried when i watched the pilot, but episode
2 was really good. Kirk Jones is begining to grow on me a bit. As soon as he stops trying to be Wesley and put his own spin on Blade, he will really excel. One thing that id like to see more of tho, is sword play, i know Jones isnt as talented as Snipes, but he better learn quick. Blade needs to get nasty with that sword.

I like the show, but I'm still not sold on Sticky. I can think of six black actors that could have had the role and looked more natural.

If he makes it past the first season I'm sure he'll grow on me.

This one was much better than the pilot. The action was up a notch and Jones was much more Blade-like in his fighting style. He DIDN'T seem like a pushover in this episode. He was an unstoppable fighting machine and from the looks of next week's ep, it'll continue to be that way. The only trouble he had understandably was against Fritz (who it sucked to see go so early in the season but oh well).

I'm diggin the ash sidestory. This show just may become a cult hit and grow from there and take over the Buffy/Angel side of things. Being able to do what they couldn't and with a much cooler cast at that.

That shot in the last episode where the asher dude turns around and Blade is standing there was cool. That's the kind of action shots we need to see from Blade. Not the slow, clunky choreography we saw in the pilot.

The ash story is brilliant, I have to agree. Very new idea to bring to the vampire lore. I also have to agree that this will likely become a cult hit. My girlfriend is a huge Buffy/Angel fan and she's really into the show... though, she is a Blade fan as well, which certainly helps.

While I'm sure there are actors better suited for the role there are also certain factors that probably hurt the search

1. The character has already been portrayed very well on the big screen, I'm sure that turned a lot of people off the project, not wanting to step into Wesley's shoes.

2. Budget and the network, you're not gonna get big name talent for a Spike TV show, F/X might have been able to get a bigger name, plus the shows probably pretty low budget, I'm sure the producers wanted to keep the casting budget pretty low to spend more on fx.
