What did you give up for Lent?

Giving up or taking part in doing something for Lent is generally a Catholic thing. I don't think you'll find too many Catholics on the Hype Boards, or people admitting to being Catholic.

I'm filipino so I was born Catholic by default. Still proud though.

Oh...please stop

my power...itching

UNLIMITED POOOOOOOOOOWEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!

Lent is a fad, and it's ridiculous.......

Such a fad I bet less than 10% of the Hype even knew it had started before this thread.

Actually the protestants do it too. Lent is truly one of the better religious observations, because the person aims for a spiritual goal and is creative about his method to attain it. 40 days later, you may have effected what you wanted, or something totally different (!). That's what neat about Lent: you're aiming for the moon, so you will at least land in the stars.

I'm the ultimate loner, so for Lent, I want to keep up something rather than deprive myself: I'm going to try to cultivate and maintain three friendships. I mean really 1) letting down my walls, 2) suffering and rejoicing with them, and 3) staying engaged with their path, thoughts and memories. I'm really scared and really stoked at the same time.

I'm giving up Red Bull.

And I'm having major withdrawal.

My head.

IS ON FIRE.

Sounds like a naive piece of bull crap to me.

i'm not catholic, but my friend is and i tried to help her come up with something to give up for lent.

first i suggested myspace, she said no, then i suggested cigarettes, she said HECK NO, and we finally agreed on soda. but i know she's cheated and had at least one.

as i said above, i'm not catholic, but i have thought about fasting a bit for a while.

I've gone for my most challenging year ever! I've given up Chocolate, crisps (potato chips), sweets and non diet soda.
