Arrow What do you want to see on the Island in year 3?

All indications are that Slade/Sara will be jettisoned off the Island at the end of this season, Shado is already dead. Most likely Ollie will need a brand new cast of characters to interact with in year 3. Who?

Natas - Ollie still has a long way to go before he becomes the Arrow we see in episode 1, both in archery and in combat. He's going to need a mentor, and Natas is a darn good one.

Cheshire - It's the CW, so Ollie needs a love interest right? They could make Cheshire Natas's daughter or a protege. Have her train with Ollie maybe?

LoA - There have been subtle hints that Ollie has had run-ins with the league prior to Sara's return. Maybe he met a member there.

I think it'd be interesting if the remaining prisoners onboard the Amazo ended up being stranded on the Island, and battle lines were drawn with Oliver ending up on the side containing the Russian he rescued and who made him a Bratva Captain.

They'd have to end up back on the Island eventually since we saw the freighter sunk just off-shore in "City of Heroes" when Diggle and Felicity parachuted in.

Didn't they say in the pilot that Ollie had several bones broken (some of which didn't mend properly?)I wonder if/how they can address that.(between seasons?)I doubt they'll have him hobbling around or a broken leg or nursing a broken arm for a whole season.

Of course,it could go the way of the disappearing Latino housemaid that Ollie was so fond of in the pilot.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if he was sent "elsewhere" than remaining on the island for another season's worth of flash backs.

I feel like the "island" can get old pretty quick and become sort of a "deus ex machina" or plot device.

I mean first we had mercenaries on the island getting ready to destroy China's economy, now we have pirates looking for an ancient Japanese submarine.

I think that would suffice for now. I mean it would just be "too convenient" that all of this crap took place on this island.

I think that would suffice for now. I mean it would just be "too convenient" that all of this crap took place on this island.

Well, he's already confirmed a couple times, in both Season 1 and Season 2, that he didn't spend the entire time on the Island. In "Trust But Verify", when Oliver and Diggle were having their argument over the veracity of the List, Oliver said that his father left him a message that confirmed the veracity, and Diggle asked how that was possible if his father died before they reached the Island. Oliver replied that he didn't find that message on the Island.

I doubt Oliver would have been made a Bratva captain for simply saving Anatoli's life on the Amazo, so I think it'd be interesting if they had a season of flashbacks where he's in service to the Russians and learning the ways of the Bratva (which is where he could be trained in some of his fighting skills). They could even have it be that Oliver and a team or Russians lead an enemy force to the Island (their own stomping grounds) and that's how Oliver is once more stranded. I just don't see a way for Anatoli to escape the Amazo and the Island without Oliver coming with him.

I would guess part of Season 3 will take place on the Island, while another part takes place elsewhere. At least that's my hope.

-Slade's way of punishing Oliver is to round up all of his friends and companions and strand them on the island.

-The island houses a Lazarus pit.

-The island shares a special connection with another island on the other side of the world (Themyscira) that houses a society of tribal female warriors who worship Greek Gods.

Yeah I think if they come up with an island side plot every season it will start getting more convoluted as each season goes on.
