Green Arrow the Movie, anyone?

Actually I think Glen Powell, 31 is the guy for WB to blow up for Green Arrow.

He’s been in a wide range of movies and television across the years—he should be able to tackle both the serious and lighthearted sides to Ollie.

Charlie Hunnam talked about his name being mentioned for Green Arrow

He literally confirmed that there was something to the Green Arrow rumors. “There’s a little fire behind that smoke” he said. Wow. Interesting.

Though he is the obvious fan cast, he really would be one of the best guys you could possibly get for the role. The only other guy I’d put above Hunnam for Green Arrow is Brad Pitt.

We have to ask ourselves, do we want an unknown or someone we're familiar with?
What choice is the best, known or unknown, for drawing as much people as possible to see it?

Hunnam would be cool. Despite his awkward American accent, his raspy voice would be great for Oliver. He's got a good balance of grit and charm as well.

Green Arrow could be made relatively cheaply. I think you could make a good Green Arrow movie on a lower budget (like the John Wick films).

If I was WB I would certainly take a chance on the character and greenlight a film.

Or an actor I would go with even though he is lesser known is Australian actor Luke Bracey in the role of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow

Unfortunately, none of us are Warner Bros.
Making a film out of Green Arrow (or a few other properties) is a very obvious step these days. Therefor, it won't happen right now. WB isn't logical.

I can see that too. :)
His GA would be more towards the grittier kind, I think.

If we want a bit more charming and easy-going character, then Garret Hedlund

Or you could have either Hemsworth brother play Oliver Queen...Luke Hemsworth or Liam Hemsworth...I would go with Luke especially not only because of his work on WestWorld but out of the 3 Hemsworth brothers he is the least known and he needs a breakout role. This could be that.

Who should direct? I would lose my mind if it was Taylor Sheridan, but my ultimate choice would be Steven Soderbergh. The most likely choice would probably be someone like Leigh Wannel tho.

Perfect choice. He oozes charisma. Just watch his John Glen in Hidden Figures or his hilarious turn on the otherwise pedestrian Scream Queens. His career path has been one where he is an upper B list, always outside looking in of the A listers, but not due to a lack of ability or talent. Put otherwise, he is Green Arrow.

Plus he has other action movie experience being in The Expendables 3 right in the thick of things with Stallone, Arnie, Lundgren, Ford, Gibson, Rousey, Snipes, Banderas, Li, etc. and he's supposed to be in Top Gun Maverick as well

I think a streaming series is far more likely for Green Lantern at this point. They don't seem to be too eager to commit to a new film.

Unfortunately, Ryan Reynolds poisoned the well for a long time on Green Lantern, as did Martin Campbell.

I think Luke Hemsworth would of made a good Barney Barton aka Trickshot if he wasn't already Thor Ragnarok

Good suggestion. I like it!
He might be the only veteran actor to consider doing GA.
A dream choice would be Michael Mann. Or Walter Hill when he still made good films. Both are impossible to happen.

This is a Green Arrow thread :? :D

Just got a thought. Campbell did the wrong green hero. Imagine the Emerald Archer done as good as Casino Royale.

I guess the director depends on what kind of movie you want to see.

For me, I picture something with the raw realistic atmosphere of a Paul Greengrass film, the character and charm of a Die Hard or Lethal Weapon, along with the impactful action of a John Wick.

Someone like James Mangold would be great, but for a smaller more realistic pick, Leigh Whannell.

Maybe James Mangold with a Shane Black script.
James Mangold already did two different Wolverine, that's enough.

Would Paul Greengrass agree to do Green Arrow?

As far as Green Arrow directors you can go with:

Guillermo Del Toro
Brad Bird
JA Bayona
Joseph Kosinski
Leigh Whannell
Travis Knight
Francis Lawrence

Seems like just a grab bag of rando fan fave directors to me.

I think the best option would be to go for a director that isn’t known for big budget films.

I always liked Ben Wheatley of Free Fire for a street-level superhero. I think his sensibilities could quite easily fit with GA.

I dunno about Liman. I've enjoyed a lot of his movies, but his big budget work has been plagued with a lot of behind-the-scenes troubles.
