What Happend to Family Guy?

I dunno what you guys are talking about, I've laughed 5+ times before the first commercial break.

What are you talking about? Season two or three? I can't take your opinion seriously anymore. The first three seasons (1999-2003) are the best seasons.

Season 4, which was their "return" season was great in my opinion. I would say the same about season 5.

Now...season 6...which is the CURRENT season hasn't been all that great. Yea, they had Blue Harvest and the Stewie Kills Lois saga but aside from that it has been okay-ish. Hopefully they make improvements for season 7.

the fact that you enjoyed ANYTHING since their return makes your opinion invalid, I'm sorry but I know everyone's entitled to one

but how can you honestly have enjoyed even a split millisecond of this god aweful show, all they do is make fun of EVERY SINGLE CULTURE, TREND OR INTEREST possible, Stewis' character is COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT from his season 1-3 counterpart in which he went from an evil genious mastermind to a ****ing homosexual annoying whining complaining piece of **** in which every episode he repeats something a dozen times over ( mommie, mommie, mom, mom, mommie, mommie mommie, mom, mom, mom , mom, mommie, mommie, mom, mom) like tha'ts suppose to pass for some type of comedy.......ppppfffffffffttttttttt ****ing eat my **** on that one, sorry, but it's beyond flat out pathetic.

it's .......LLLLLLAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE

LAME..........

worst yet, they'll try to slip in jokes they used in the first 3 seasons just to see if they'll pass as "funny" a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th time around

every single animated sitcom on television right now isn't worth a millisecond of my time, holy god would that be a complete waste

I'll stick to my DVD's of shows from the 80's and 90's thank you very much, this next gen new age **** just doesn't cut it for me

Simpsons = Died in 97
Family Guy = Died in 2002/03
American Dad = ppppfffffffttttttt, was never good
King of the Hill = Died in 2001/02

dead animated sitcoms and reality television are the exact reason I only watch DVD's anymore

absolutley a big ol' **** YOU to today's programming, makes me vomit

How people can say American Dad isn't good is beyond me.

You bite your tongue. American Dad is infinitly times better than Family Guy.

Sorry AD hasn't ever been good. Poorly written, lame characters and no sense of story. Some episodes just go too far like the one where Stan's boss accidentally kills one of Francine's friends he went on a Blind date with and the one where Francine has the baby for the gay couple. Others just fall flat.

The only show worse than AD is Flavor Flav's Under One Roof. I'd have to say that is the worst show on TV period.

Man, doesn't anyone know how to tell a joke anymoreon TV? Doesn't anyone know what comedic timing is? A punchline for that matter? I haven't laughed at a sitcom in years.

:dry::dry::dry:

I wonder about some peoples thoughts sometimes. I mean, do you seriously think AD is the second worst show ever, or are you just saying that to be a prick and get some kind of rise out of me.

American Dad is pretty solid, Far better than Family Guy ever has been to my knowledge.

Its desperate, clingy and too over laden with pop-references.

South Park has been the best animation for at least 5 years (although I'm more than a little behind on my episodes).

Family Guy has become too dependent on time wasting jokes. Things like Stewie ranting about or saying the same thing for 2 to 3 minutes, and the giant chicken...oh lord, it was funny the first time, now it is lame as hell, especially since it literally takes up 10 minutes of the episode. The writers need to focus on the plot. That is why American Dad is better, it actually have a coherrant narrative and the humor comes from that narrative. Family Guy does not do that anymore, granted, the earlier seasons had out of nowhere jokes, and flash backs, but they weren't at the expense of the rest of the plot. Now-a-days, the story on Family Guy seems like an after thought.

yea i stop watching a while back, and like matt said "Family Guy has become too dependent on time wasting jokes."

Good, I don't have to cook tonight.
No no no, go ahead and cook anyway and we'll just throw it away. Don't want you to get rusty.

Hahaha, classic.

Neither FG or AD come close to the Simpsons in its prime.

Shows are expected to dwindle here and there. I've never once seen a consistently high quality show with more than four seasons. When things like this happen, we don't need a "What happened to..?" thread every time. It'll only keep us from enjoying the good episodes that come later.

one bad episode doesn't mean the shows gone downhill and Family Guy is at it's peak right now, in fact Family Guy and The Simpsons are the only network shows that I watch.

I can't believe you guys are dissing on FG because of it's popularity, if you want to complain about crappy shows then here's a list:

American Idol
According To Jim
King Of The Hill
The Hills
Survivor
Two Guys And A Half
Lost
Aliens In America

Last year I may have agreed with you. But this season hasn't been all that good.

woah , now thats just uncalled for ok , now your just been hurtful.

I still think that Family guy is ok to watch but their timing has been off for some time now. They have way to many jokes that run to long, they might be funny at first but then go on for another 15-30 seconds after the joke has been said which just kills it.

Simpsons fortunatly don´t do this, they seem to have enough sense to just cut to the next thing.

I wish Futurama was still on the air, that show kicked the rears of all other animated shows. The DVD movies are nice but I´d prefer getting 22 episodes a year.

I love season 1-4. Season 5 was when I noticed the decline. This current one.. oh dear. :(

Stan: All the cool missions go to the young guys.
Francine: Stan, maybe you're just having a mid-life crisis. You want to cheat on me?
Stan: A mistress on my salary, Francine? Come on!
Francine: Listen, sweetheart, you have a stable job, an adoring wife, and a family that loves you. That makes you the richest man in the world.
Stan: Oh. Oh, that's fantastic, Francine. I'm the richest man in the world. (Grabs phone) Hello? Bill Gates? Turns out I'm the richest guy in the world because I have an adoring wife and a loving family.
Francine: Oh, Stan, please.
Stan: Oh, hang on. That's the other line. Hello? UNICEF? Yes, I'd like to donate some of my immense riches. What's that? Children are still starving in Africa because wife love is worthless to you? What an odd policy.

I love that scene
