Chapter 2: The Shadowy Figure

KenshinAtrain, adhokk7, and Spider-Man Luvr28 try to stare into the darkness to get a better look at this individual whom has assembled them. These
attempts prove to be futile.

“Who the hell are you?” angrily shouts adhokk7.

“Throughout time, I have gone by many names. But you may call me The-
Dark-Knight” says the stranger calmly.

The stranger steps toward the trio until he is visible. The-Dark-Knight is unassuming in looks and size. What jumps out about this man are his clothes. His clothes are uniform black jump suit, with a red number on the right chest, complete with black gloves and boots. The uniform nature would suggest a military background.

“Okay, Mr. Dark-Knight. You’ve given a name. But you still haven’t answered my question” says adhokk7 mockingly.

“Is the attitude really necessary?” asks The-Dark-Knight.

“Attitude. ATTITUDE! You kidnap people and put them in some sort of black abyss, and what do you expect? Flowers and candy?”

“Stop it” interrupt Spider-Man Luvr28. “I’m as curious as you to know what is going on, but you’re not helping matters here.”

“She’s right. Let’s listen to what he has to say” concurs KenshinAtrain. Adhokk7 starts to say something, but stops before the words come out. He folds his arms.

“Thank you” says The-Dark-Knight approvingly. “As I was saying before, I have been known as many names in the span of time. Who I am has depended on both civilization, and time.”

“Wait, so what does that make you? Some kind of time traveler?” asks KenshinAtrain.

“Yes” replies The-Dark-Knight.

“Okay, can I wake up from this nightmare now?” says adhokk7.

“I assure you, this is quite real” replies The-Dark-Knight.

“And I’m the Easter Bunny” mocks adhokk7.

“I believe him” says Spider-Man Luvr28.

“Are you serious? How can you believe this garbage?” asks adhokk7.

“I just feel it. I can’t explain” replies Spider-Man Luvr28.

“I understand your skepticism” replies The-Dark-Knight. “You’ve seen things,
haven’t you?”

“What did you say?” asks a confused adhokk7.

“You’ve been seeing these images, haven’t you? Dark images. You’ve tried to
piece them together, but to no avail. But what is clear to you is that it ends badly. For everyone.”

“How can you possibly know that?” asks adhokk7.

“Because I have a gift. I can read minds. It is how I found all of you” answers
The-Dark-Knight. “You adhokk7 too have a gift. All of you do.” He points to adhokk7. “The images you saw were not illusions. They were visions of the future. You are a psychic.” He points to Spider-Man Luvr28. “You are wise to listen to your feelings, Spider-Man Luvr28. You have the gift of clairvoyance, allowing you to sense good and evil around you.”

“What about me?” asks KenshinAtrain. “I don’t get any visions or feelings.”

“Your gift has yet to be harnessed, and it is the most special of all” declares The-Dark-Knight. “You are like a psychic human battery. You can take psychic energy around you, and turn it into raw power. It is kind of complicated.”

“What do you seek from us?” asks Spider-Man Luvr28.

“Your mission, is to stop the end of time” declares The-Dark-Knight.

The mission is to stop the end of time, but when is the end of time?

Chapter 3 – The Mission

KenshinAtrain, adhokk7, and Spider-Man Lurv28 hold looks of shock at the news they had just been given.

“Hold on, we have to stop the end of time?” asks KenshinAtrain. “What do you mean the end of time?”

“There is a rift in the stream of time” replies The-Dark-Knight.

“How’s that possible?” asks Spider-Man Luvr28.

“And why us?” asks adhokk7.

“In the future, the secret to time travel was discovered” explains The-Dark-Knight. “However, time travel is not possible for everyone.” He holds up his arm and points to a device on his wristband. “This device is how time travel was made possible.”

“That is amazing” says adhokk7 staring at the watch. “How does it work?”

“This device is far beyond any technology available in your time” says The-Dark-Knight.

“What does it run on?” asks Spider-Man Luvr28.

“Psychic energy” replies The-Dark-Knight. “That is why time travel is not possible for everyone. By concentrating your psychic energy , this device allows your astral projection to manifest physically in another time.”

“So, that means?” asks KenshinAtrain.

“Your mind leaves, but your body stays behind” explains Spider-Man Luvr28.

“Correct Spider-Man Luvr28” says The-Dark-Knight.

“That still doesn’t answer the question, how did this rift happen?” asks adhokk
7.

“When the secret of time travel was discovered,” begins The-Dark-Knight “a task force was assembled to protect the time stream. Various agents were sent all throughout time. Think of it as signing up for the military for an allotted period in your time. You’d serve your term, someone would relieve you, you’d go home for a bit, and you’d be relocated.”

“Are you insane?” asks KenshinAtrain. “What makes you think someone wouldn’t go rogue.”

“Before being deployed, people would undergo a massive screening process” explains The-Dark-Knight.

“Then why is the time stream in trouble then?” asks adhokk7 emphatically.

“Something went wrong” says The-Dark-Knight.

“Someone went rogue didn’t they?” asks KenshinAtrain angrily.

“Yes” says The-Dark-Knight apologetically.

“What a surprise” says adhokk7 sarcastically.

“Who?” asks Spider-Man Luvr28.

“We don’t know” says The-Dark-Knight. “There are many people involved in this plot, but the only thing we could gather about the central figure was his citizen number, 930.”

“Citizen number?” asks KenshinAtrain.

“It’s not much different from your idea of social security” explains The-Dark-Knight. “However, all information on this number has been erased. We have no idea who it is, but someone who can do that must be very high up.”

“So what are we supposed to do?” ask Spider-Man Luvr28.

“Your mission is to go to the past and seek out the one called BizarroAids. He will take control of you from there” says The-Dark-Knight.

“You’re not going with us?” asks KenshinAtrain.

“No. I used the last of my strength bringing you three here” explains The-Dark-Knight. He pulls out three devices, and hands them to the three champions.

“I don’t get it, why don’t you send people from your own time?” asks adhokk7.

“Our troops have been spread too thin” declares The-Dark-Knight. “By taking people out of their time, we expose their time periods. Also, if this is indeed someone high up, we need the most potent psychics we can find, and none of our trainees fit the profile.”

“One question,” says Spider-Man Luvr28. “where are we going?”
