More seriously, yeah. It wouldn't be a good idea for one company to own both Marvel and DC, because they would inevitably short-change one or both. Its a simple matter of there being only so many release-slots per year, and so much resources for making movies. There is no good reason for one media conglomerate, no matter how big, to fully explore and exploit both. So while I can imagine Disney owning DC, and how that would produce better results in the micro, its unreasonable to expect that Disney would even want to buy DC right now. It'd be paying for something they largely don't need at all, and would mostly get in the way of their own current work.

I was talking about an alternate scenario where Disney owned DC and Marvel was still indepedent or owned by someone else.

DC's silver age roots seem like they'd fit right in with the Disney brand, while Marvel's "the world outside your window" style has been defanged and become a bit toothless/saccharine.

Obviously there are characters in both that subvert the rule, but I'm talking about in the abstract.

Not that I ultimately disagree, but a potentially interesting work-around could be exploring DC almost exclusively through animation (and by that I mean: Pixar) and Marvel almost exclusively through live-action. I don't think that'd work out in the long-term, but in some universe where Disney owning both companies wouldn't be a terrible thing, it'd be fascinating to see what they'd do.

It would be too anti-competitive even in concept and also actually result in too much being too same-y.

Even if Disney got DC rather than Marvel, they could have maybe made a decent Superman, the rest only getting to that decent level probably worse.
