What if the ALIEN franchise had gone differently?

Well I don't care about Morses story, it's a film about Ripley.

I was just commenting that Morse was a funny bastard. And in the end, he helped Ripley kill the Alien and he helped her jump into the furnace.

And there was more to Dillon than just being one of the only guys who didn't want to rape Ripley. He was like the father to the inmates, the preacher. He read the eulogy at the cremation. He refused to kill Ripley and instead told her to carry on until the end. And then he sacrificed himself so Ripley, 85 and Morse could get away

No one is saying Alien 3 is better than Aliens, or even on par with it. We are saying that Alien 3 isn't a train wreck of a movie.

The tag line of Aliens was "This time, it's war".

Of course it's gonna have larger than life characters with the marines. Aliens wasn't JUST about Ripley. Aliens was a war movie, a sci fi war movie. You can't have the film just about one character.

Alien 3 is a sci fi horror movie. Solely about Ripley and the continuing nightmare that she thought she got away from.

Alien is my life. It's been in my life since I was 5 years old. I remember the day when I FIRST watched Aliens...and every day i'd watch Alien...over and over and over..and Alien 3...over and over and over, and I saw Alien Res in theaters.

No Vasquez just did what any other soldier would do, try and take down as many of the ****ers in her last breaths.

See I just don't think you can compare Aliens and Alien 3. There are two completely different movies with completely different methods and styles.

Plus Aliens to this day, is one of the greatest multiple character driven action movies ever. You can compare pretty much ANYTHING to it and it will come up short against Aliens.

she indirectly sealed their fate.... explosion caused Newt to be lost in the sewers... Ripley and Hicks try to get her out, but take to much time, causing Hicks to be sprayed with Acid...

Ripley, alone rescue Newt, but the queen gets back to the main ship, where she leaves an egg that causes Alien 3

Vasquez was indeed bad ass. Aliens is just so unique in that he had so many great characters, even the ones with not a lot of screen time like Drake. You just can't compare anything to Aliens.

It was like his utter panic sent him into bad ass overdrive or something.

I agree. Aliens is one of my all-time favorite film and I've seen it on VHS and DVD over 10 times. I can catch a rerun on TV and still not get bored at any part of the movie.
