Lucas is already remaking the classic trilogy with his beloved "Special Editions"; as for the prequels, those'll get remade when Lucas is in the ground, I figure.

Then again, if I was remaking the classic SW trilogy - which would probably be a more likely candidate for a straight-up remake than the prequels anyway, seeing how Hollywood is these days - I know I'd probably skip the prequel era entirely, except maybe for flashbacks a la LOTR. Visually, I'd probably refer back to the original early concept art by Ralph McQuarrie and Joe Johnston for all three films, and even some of the early models by Colin Cantwell. In terms of characterization, the only really significant change I'd make is to have Threepio be the used-car-salesman-type that Lucas originally wanted him to be.

it's funny, cause lucas is the one who made star wars. lets not forget that it's back where it belongs - as a KIDS' franchise. Let them grow up on it, your time is done.

I will give you that, AOTC was a tad....terrible..but these are lucas' stories. it'd be the same if someone redid all the harry potter movies or ghostbusters, hell, even JAWS ( no.1 only), cause some thinks "it sucked and was teh worst moviezz".

same reason anyone does. Home alone was hughes' story. HOOK was speilberg's, Batman was bob kane's story, and JP was chrichton's. there out there for fun and enjoyment.

no, im not saying that. i'm saying that to remake these films would be the dumbest thing ever. there's no point. yes, criticize all you want, complain about how lucas sucks, and how he rapes everything all you want. but at the end of the day, these are his stories, the way he wrote them was they way he imagined them. however, I still hate jar jar.course, tons of people gonna disagree with me, dont give a **** later.

well, i'm sorry about that, but everyone says that. there's actually a documentary about how he did too, and it's called that. so i assumed too much by that. and IMO, he didnt. you can still buy the originals on dvd, so really, if you hate the new edits, then buy those.
