I know with the Internet nowadays and forums it would be impossible because somebody will probably leak who the villian is anyway but imagine not knowing who the villian is at least until a month before its release

nobody cares about this franchise anymore, so they wouldn't really be building anticipation by doing this. It'd just be a gimmick. And what a boring marketing campaign that would be if we didn't know the villain.

They'd be better to not advertise too much like they've been doing.

Well I care about it and I guarantee you everybody else who are Spider-Man fans will when The Amazing Spider-Man 3 is near release even the people who hated the last movie will still see the next movie

Quit the hyperbole.

People watch these films, people care.

I care about Spider Man, i just can't stand this take on it. I'll see TASM3, but i wish it wasn't happening. I want Spider-Man in the MCU, i think he'd be in far better hands there.

I think the only villian that they could keep a secret is The Chameleon

Secrets don't really work nowadays at least not with Sony's marketing division. As long as they're involved, secrets don't have a chance.

I really hope they hire a great writer praised by audiences and fans alike in an above average tv and movie

I'm not paying to see it but I will see it. Sony has had three strikes in a row and Webb has made one mediocre and one bad Spidey movie. If nothing is changing, I'm not donating any money to repair an already sinking ship. Spider-Man deserves better and giving money to mediocrity isn't going to change things.

Since the movie didn't do so well in the box office and if Sony screws around with the third film they're ****ed.

Feel the same about Iron Man. Iron Man 2 was a fool me once, Iron Man 3 a fool me twice.

It did do well. What yo may mean is it didn't do well in comparison to previous Spider-Man movies but at the box office taking it did as welll as most others.

Whatever, I just hope to God they don't mess around with the third movie because if they add too many villains, hire sub par writers, or anything else bad before release people won't see it so they need to tone down the number of villains and just use one main villain this time like mysterio and just hire some great writers like Vince Gilligan or brad bird and let Marc Webb do his thing. I just want a great spidey film this time and I can't see the cast and crew and even the character suffer like this :(

Oh, and during post production they should release 2 or 3 trailers that only last 3 or 5 minutes without revealing everything important.

This is the studio that in the first poster of TASM2; showed Spidey fighting Electro, Green Goblin, and Rhino.

I doubt they will keep the villain a secret.

Considering Sony has forced there hands and interfered in the past 3 Spidey films.

It won't happen.

Unless there are major changes and stellar reviews, I won't.
