The Dark Knight What is the Joker's true identity?

hi dear guys, something I think confusing a little ... is the Joker in Dark Knight film same character as in the Batman 89? In other words is he Jack Napier? or is new filmed divorced from the Burton?
remember for the Batman 89, Jack Napier killed Bruce Wayne parents. But in Batman Begins we see some other guy, a criminal, not the Napier did the murder? but this criminal guy was shot dead in courtroom, so i presume Jack Napier was not Wayne parental killer guy? but can he still be the Joker?

Ahhh it all makes sense now.

No Napier will not be in this film.

Batman 89 is in a different series than the one Nolan is directing.

Is that clear enough for you?

the Burton films (Batman 1989 and Batman Returns) are separate from the current Nolan films (BB, TDK). this is not a prequel-sequel setup, if anything, its a reboot of the Batman movie franchise with the current effort focusing on the early stages of Batman's career. Burton's Joker and Nolan's Joker are not the same character from the info we have. just consider these two franchises completely separate and unrelated to each other.

In "The Killing Joke," the Joker is shown as a person; but his name and/or identity is not revealed.

Well, you got me on the Chill thing. I admit my noobness in shame -.-.

Anyway, as I was pointing out, Chill and Napier aren't the same, even though they were both depicted as the killer in their respected movies. I retract the latter in my previous statement however. Thanks JStorm :P

I haven't read any of those. I definitely won't now if they're f***ing with Batman's origin.
