spoiler

hi dear guys, something I think confusing a little ... is the Joker in Dark Knight film same character as in the Batman 89? In other words is he Jack Napier? or is new filmed divorced from the Burton?
remember for the Batman 89, Jack Napier killed Bruce Wayne parents. But in Batman Begins we see some other guy, a criminal, not the Napier did the murder? but this criminal guy was shot dead in courtroom, so i presume Jack Napier was not Wayne parental killer guy? but can he still be the Joker?

I really, strongly doubt it. Remember, this Batman franchise has nothing to do with Burton's Batman.

OMG God jorel... honestly, could you stop posting such nonsense?

OMG!!!! You're teh ritZZZ! WaT a g00dZ SP0illlERZ! TeH NApiERER lIVeS! XD XD!

Joe Chill = Gotham City bum desperate for money who killed Bruce's parents. Shot dead for testifying against Carmine Falcone.

Jack Napier = Thug who was thrown into a chemical vat by Batman in Batman '89 causing him to become the Joker.

Origins of Joker/Origins of the Wayne's killers = NUMEROUS

Bwah ha ha!! In before the lock...

Is anyone else seriously disappointed in this spoiler? I was hoping they'd go with a different approach. :(

What?

One Killer.

Not "numerous."

Call me a traditional; but I like to follow the comics for true origins.

Ahhh it all makes sense now. :oldrazz:

No Napier will not be in this film.

Batman 89 is in a different series than the one Nolan is directing.

Is that clear enough for you?

the Burton films (Batman 1989 and Batman Returns) are separate from the current Nolan films (BB, TDK). this is not a prequel-sequel setup, if anything, its a reboot of the Batman movie franchise with the current effort focusing on the early stages of Batman's career. Burton's Joker and Nolan's Joker are not the same character from the info we have. just consider these two franchises completely separate and unrelated to each other.

'Jack Napier' was made up by Burton, it's not actually true.

In "The Killing Joke," the Joker is shown as a person; but his name and/or identity is not revealed.

Well, you got me on the Chill thing. I admit my noobness in shame -.-.

Anyway, as I was pointing out, Chill and Napier aren't the same, even though they were both depicted as the killer in their respected movies. I retract the latter in my previous statement however. Thanks JStorm :P

No thanks required.

If you are new to this world, I suggest some reading/research on you own before you begin to make threads with questions.

If you need help, you can PM me anytime. And I'm sure some of the other guys wouldn't mind helping either.

To begin, start with Wikipedia.org. Search for characters, etc, and wikipedia will give you just about any information you need.

Well, I guess he meant numerous origins (for the killer and his identity) which there are, Joe Chill was used in Year Two, but that comic has fallen in and out of continuity for some time now, so there really is no real fact.

I would like it if Nolan just reffered to pre-Joker as "Jack." No last names--including silly homages like "Napier." Just...Jack. I think it's a simple, but symbolic name (the Jack in the deck of cards).

But if he wants to go the "unknown" path, that's alright with me.

Nah.

One could pick up any Batman comic and he or she could read someplace that Chill is the killer.

However, one will never pick up a Batman comic and read that the Joker and/or Jack Napier is the killer.

That was my point.

No name at all.

I understand your point; but the Joker's origin should remain vague.

To me, that is what makes him the best villian ever.

Nope.

Chill´s name is seldom or never mentioned. In recent years in th Batman /Superman-comic Bats was still looking for the real killer's identity.

I haven't read any of those. I definitely won't now if they're f***ing with Batman's origin.
