It’s no secret we have more bad video game movies than good ones. Some would argue that there haven’t been any good ones. Which one is the absolute worst?

I left the original Mortal Kombat film off the list simply because even if you think it’s a terrible movie, there’s no way it’s as bad as the second one.

Lumping the first RE movie with the rest of them?

The last Hitman film Agent 47 was a lesson in how to get pretty much everything wrong in film making and in actually adapting a character from the source material. So much dumbness in one film.

Tragic in every way, one of the few on the list I have had the misfortune to witness.

SMB is absolutely terrible but yeah I agree; it is in that “so bad it’s good” category. You can watch it and laugh at how bad it is, whereas a film like Chun Li is just ****ing unwatchable.

I vote for Silent Hill, because I generally take the opinion that a movie which fundamentally misunderstands its source material is worse than one which doesn't, no matter the production quality.

I've never played the Silent Hill games. How did the movie stray from them?

I remember thinking it was okay for about the first half or so (I guess because I grew up near Centralia and I've always found that place to be creepy) but by then end I was just bored out of my mind.

I love Radha Mitchell, and the movie was nice to look at, but yeah, it kind of fell apart at the end.

Yeah I like Radha too. I’d always hoped she’d catch on more. She was great in Pitch Black and High Art.

Assassin's Creed for me, simply because of how much love I have for the series so the movie was a colossal let down for me.

It basically took the games, which run on a fairly distinct type of Lovecraftian-style psychological horror, and turned them into generic "evil churchgoers empowering evil demon" storyline.

I always remember the scene with the chick getting her skin ripped off by the cone head dude lol in my entire movie going life that's was one of the only scenes that put me off my food :funny:

Is it just me or does the pyramid head guy in Silent Hill make anyone else think of Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis in Beetlejuice after they stretch out their faces to look like birds from hell?

Oh my god, I totally forgot they made a Tekken movie. My mom was a huge fan of that game and made me see it with her, I don’t remember a single thing :funny:

Hard choice, so many video game movies end up being so bad it’s good. I even kinda like the Prince of Persia movie. Might have to go with the Resident Evil films. Especially the latter ones.

Yeah, I didn't mind Prince of Persia. It's a whitewashed mess for sure, but the visuals were pretty good and the parkour stuff was cool. I never saw Tekken and I completely forgot they made a movie out of it until I was Googling stuff to add to this thread. I'm sure it was terrible. The game itself was never that good, IMO. In the era of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter, Tekken always seemed like the Walmart knockoff version of those games to me, lol.

God Dead or Alive was beyond horrible.

I haven’t had the nerve to watch the live action Tekken movie yet after all these years. I don’t think my heart can take it.
