i've been buying a lot of back issues in the past year or so, really getting into the history of the X-Men, and i always see what stories people suggest for newcomers to read. it all got me thinking what is your favorite 'era' in X-Men- the classic O-5? the Claremont years? Morrison's New X-Men? personally ive enjoying and collecting the stuff from Scott Lodbell/ Fabian Nicieza. from what i understand that's like the heyday of the X-Men and i can see why. i love Jim Lee, Andy Kubert, and Joe Mad's stuff, and i loved how the writers told the stories; narrative boxes and all.

NOTE: i seperated Morrison from Casey/Austin because each run is so different, and Whedon for Milligan/Claremont because it was pretty much it's own book. poll is multiple choice.

The Claremont/Lee years with parts of the Claremont/Silvistri and Lobdell/Nicieza years thrown in. Late 80's to early 90's, basically.

I am going to say mid to late 90's, only because I am guessing that was when we had the whole Trial of Gambit era. That was good times for me. Logan with the bone claws, Cicilia Reyes (Bronx in da House), Marrow and Maggot, Wild Child, Mystique and Sabes in X-Factor with Alex at the helm. More good times. Love it!

i LOVE the 80s-early 90s! the best stuff! claremont at his best with some of the best art, def. the most memorable art, by jim lee. it was just awesome.

the mutant massacre, the whole australlia team, through the seige perilous, into inferno, and then the huge war against the savage land, into genosha, then into space, which finally lead to the gold/blue team. that was just the coolest decade! it was like an amazing single arc that just kept going.

I would have voted for Joe Kelly but you put it with Alan Davis which was one of the worst writing periods of the series
