I know this has nothing to do with Pixar but has anyone heard anything on the animation front as far as anything being developed?

Bumping this back up to chain since we're discussing Marvel's next steps. Pixar & Marvel.... the possibilities boggle the mind!

WOW, some interesting choices. I would LOVE to see a Machine Man movie by Pixar. Also a Rocket Raccoon movie by Pixar.
I'd LOVE a live action Fantastic Four film by Pixar, with them behind the story I guess, and contributing to the effects I guess. With the shaping the movie.
Oh, and the Inhumans too, animated and with full Kirby influence on the design of the characters, backgrounds, weapons, and everything. The detail, color, all that, just like a Kirby comic brought to life with Pixar quality. Its a total win.

I would like a Pixar animated movie based on any Kirby cosmic property with his designs adapted to computer 3D animation

none. keep this kiddy stuff away from Marvel.
The last thing I want to see is Finding Namor...

Imagine giving Pixar FF 48, 49, 50 and just saying: "Put this on the big screen."

Maybe mix in a few live actors, but the rest could be digital. It would just be so cool to see the Kirby world brought to life.

I kinda like Artistsean's ideas of a live action Pixar film of the FF, i think they could successfully recreate Kirby's vibe on screen

As much as I would love for Pixar to erase the stain of Fox's FF from my mind.... Fox still own the rights AND it might be a little too similar to The Incredibles.

I'd say keep the main Marvel stuff away, sure. But things that Marvel would never even bother trying in live action(Power Pack, Howard the Duck, Rocket Raccoon)? I'd be fine with Pixar taking a swing at those.

IMO The Incredibles was everything that the FF movie should have been and wasn't. Pretty sad when a "kiddie" superhero movie can outclass the live action adult counterpart.

Also, Pixar's movies aren't exactly kiddies stuff.
SPOILERS!
Nemo's mother is killed in the beginning of the movie. The father wont let his child out of his site because he saw his wife and children murdered (off camera).
The Incredibles deals with fidelity, mid life crisis, and other adult things.
Toy Story 3 was so sad at the end, the toys almost burn to death and Andy has to give up his childhood.
And UP!
Up was about growing old, death, loss of loved ones, the inability to have children.
Pixar has never shied away from adult themes that are a little mature for younger viewers.

So they can handle themes like a young child who has lost his parents and must live with his aunt and uncle, until his uncle is killed when he is a teenager because the teen didn't stop it when he had the chance. That Spider-Man concept is as mature as Up and the Incredibles, and Finding Nemo.

If Pixar did a FF movie I would want it live action, and that plus the already different back stories (the FF getting their powers and how they are all related to each other, while the Incredibles just have powers and are more of a traditional family), the movies would be different enough in my opinion. Enough to let the public not think they are just ripping off the Incredibles or whatever.
The main reason I would want Pixar involved in ANY Marvel property is their ability to focus on stories. They make such great stories.
I would rather then animate something like the Inhumans though, because they could make such a great movie with Kirby influence all through it, brought to life with in Pixar quality. It would be awesome.

Unfortunatelly because of their record of making great story driven movies when they make something that is only supposed to be fun and a bit stilised like the Cars movies fans hate them, :woot:.

Wall-E is an example that they can make a STORY without the main character really talking.

The Pet Avengers would be cool if it means we get to see Throgg.

Too bad that apparently the Pixar people are either ultra-territorial or OIP snobs, I don't see any Marvel-based adaptations happening anytime soon, it's too bad (of course, that probably won't stop Pixar's creative personnel from cribbing from Marvel history, i.e., the Fantastic 4 for the Impossibles)..

Maybe Disney's "standard" 3D animation department (Prep & Landing) could get involved with adapting something..

Spider-Ham...I think is funny...can see in pixar

Either Silver Surfer or an adaptation of Marvels.

Franklin Richards: Son of a Genius.

Shorts. Don't need a full movie.

I don't know about that, Cars was not my favorite but Monsters Inc. and Toy Story 1 and 2 were great and weren't hard core serious stuff like some of their others.
But their Story First method leads them to make such great movies that no matter what they tackle, besides Cars 2, it will be great.
And I totally agree, Wall-E (another great movie with a serious topic) shows how they can make a compelling movie without the main character talking. Few characters talked much in that movie.

Hey, I liked cars 2. lol. And its true that most of the main marvel heroes dont have stories too adult to be told by pixar. Hawkeye- starts out as a circus act, becomes a hero. Captain America- Skinny boy gets powers ( pixar would do the bucky death scene perfectly, itd actually be emotional. Hulk- Man becomes monster.

I didn't see Cars 2, but I didn't hear good things. Still could be good for all I know.

Bugs Life is another movie, subject matter is about slaves gaining freedom, but done in a way that isn't too dark for children.
True, many Marvel characters stories aren't too dark, they were made back when the comics had to be safe for children.
They have some tragedy, and seriousness but not something that would make it too dark for children to see. Most of them are along the lines of the Cap film, the Thor film, the Spider-Man films, the Iron Man films. Those are sort of safe for everyone to see. They don't get as dark as the Dark Knight.
