All of the horror remakes including the PG-13 rated J-horror ones and the god awful, sans Dawn of the Dead and The Hills Have Eyes, 70s horror remakes.

I'm sick of the American remakes of great foreign films as well. There's no way they can ever improve upon most of these movies by having it take place with English speaking Americans and about 99% of them just fall on their face or else their so close to the original you have to wonder why they bothered in the first place?

All of the straight to dvd Disney "sequels" to their initial catalog of classics.

I'm sure I'll think of more...

It's not about things that you think are merely terrible, but things that never should have been made into movies in the first place. Super Mario Bros, for one. Awesome game series, absolutely NO reasonable material to make a movie from (not one, single "your princess is in another castle!). Also, anything "adapted" from a board game. The reported Monopoly movie comes to mind...

I don't know if you were referring to me as well, but I stand by my claims. All of those remakes are terrible and superfluous. I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind wanting to remake a movie that is already great as it is, especially one that came out just a year or two ago. Maybe if they wanted to remake an infamously terrible movie in the hopes of making a better film then okay...

i haven't seen the most recent version of it, but i remember reading the book and seeing an older movie version when i was a kid, and the story always stuck with me. Its a good story and I don't see why your misunderstanding of what it is makes it a poor film.

Agreed. All in all, I'd say fighting games are usually the genre with the worst plots.

Also, while a second Fantastic Four movie wasn't a bad idea, the decision to make Galactus a cloud was something that should have been left on the cutting room floor. If they couldn't think of something that wasn't lame, they shouldn't have used Galactus at all.

Not that I disagree with your assessment of all these damn remakes and sequels being cranked out by Hollywood like there's no tomorrow, but that's not the point of the thread. It was clearly stated in the opening post that this thread is about movies based on TV shows, comic books, novels, video games, board games, and graphic novels that should never have been made.

Jason X was a crappy movie that never should have been made, but was not based on any of the above mentioned mediums and therefore doesn't belong on this thread. Car 54, Where Are You? was a crappy movie based on an old sitcom and as such does belong on this thread.
