Argue & Bicker mainly.....
Argue & Bicker mainly.....
By that I assume your whole entire family on your dad's side of the family shows up like grandparents? aunts? uncles? cousins?
All of my grandparents are dead on both sides, and most of my paternal family is in Ga. I'm in the Washington, DC area, so very small gathering.
My maternal family is enormous, and most are in the area. It's just easier to keep with the family I grew up with.
My mom and I watch Die Hard every Christmas Eve before getting ready for dinner.
My own personal tradition is I watch Its a Wonderful Life at 4pm start time on Christmas Eve.
Another timeless Christmas classic I wonder if you watch any other Christmas classics in your run up to Christmas Day like a marathon of sorts?
I go out every Christmas eve hoping to find a figgy puddin or a carol singer to eat. Sometimes Santa joins me for a chinwag and a quick whisky sandwich. I don't bother with Rudolphf anymore after the China town fiasco of 1922. So thats about it really.
Then I watch the Queens speech Christmas day with my family while we are all stuffing our greedy faeces with food grub.
Then if we are still awake and not crying too hard Doctor Who and things similar will be watched. If I have a lady friend at this time of the year she comes in very useful for working off the squirrell trifle and chockolat fage mulled products.
All in all it's a festival of arguing and hate and old grudges brang forth.
Roll on Halloween and let the bun fights be done with my hombres.
But at the end of the day it's all about Jesus and stuff aint it...
Peace be with you my friends, and also with you.
Well the key thing with figgy pudding is that you don't leave wherever you're at until you get some.
Will usually go to my folks house on Christmas Eve for dinner. Someone will typically read Night Before Christmas for the grandkids. Its not your typical story though; its the Cajun version. Its written with the Cajun dialect, which makes it fun to try and read aloud, and instead of reindeer, Santa as flying alligators. Its a really fun book, and reading it has been a family tradition since I was a kid.
I'm a fairly new father. My son is a year and a half. So last year we started our first family Christmas tradition. We went and picked out 3 hallmark Christmas ornaments. I picked out Superman. The wife picked out Charlie Brown. Then we got my son an Avengers ornament picture frame. This year we continued the tradition. I picked out Batman. The wife got a Snoopy and my son picked out a Mickey Mouse. Fun lil family Christmas tradition. Christmas Eve we visit some family but on Christmas Day we stay home relax and my parents come over around lunch time for a bit.
