GOOD BOYS


Boys will be boys......


PRAISE:
Going in i wondered how far the envelope would be pushed with these 6th grade characters in the movie.
Director Gene Stupnitsky and writers Lee Eisenberg & Gene Stupnitsky are able to frame raunchy and insane moments around a story about growing up,crushes,heartache and peer pressure.
All 3 leads Jacob Tremblay,Keith L. Williams and Brady Noon are beyond capable and likeable.
Adding to the fun are Molly Gordon and Midori Francis plus several comedic actors who bring their A game to the film.The cast uplifts even the smallest moments and sight gags in the movie that add to laugh out loud so hard tears start to flow effects.
It was extremely funny to see the other pre teen actors deadpan as they delivered outrageous lines.

PROBLEMS:
The movie stalls here and there.There are a couple of predictable paths.


In the end this was a very very funny film,that captures innocent and not so innocent moments in the lives of preteens that are on the edge of wanting to grow up and not wanting to grow up and apart to fast.

The Assignment

Michelle Rodriguez did not make a convincing looking man at the start of this movie. I also wonder how this movie was made given it's subject matter. Still watching it and it has a surprisng amount of male and female nudity in it.

Edit: And having finished it, it got better. Not that it took much but it improved.
