It is nothing like the book. It would have to work incredibly hard to get up to just being trash.

In the first book, none of it takes place in our world. That does not start happening until The Drawing of the Three. The closest the first book gets is a flashback told by Jake to Roland.

John Wick: Parabellum and Mission Impossible: Fallout

Both are good films but Wick really managed to make the action more entertaining. Not that Fallout was boring but it didn't have the panache of Wick.

Features the same demented glee of the first part but also feels far more personal. One of the more visually inventive blockbusters of the year.
