What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

I surprisingly haven't seen Bride of Frankenstein or the other sequels, but I will be correcting that this week.

I'm so glad I bought the Universal Monsters collection on bluray.
Look forward to seeing what you think of it!

All these years later after a number of great films, I still consider this one of MCU's best. It's a shame people still look down at it.
Besides the dated CGI for Hulk and Abomination and somewhat simplistic/shallow arcs for certain characters, I really don't see this as being all that bad.

Love the Outpost movies. This one's the best, though.
Yeah, this one was pretty good....I have two more, haven't watched them yet, will try and see them tomorrow.

Bride of Frankenstein

Surprisingly, I have not seen Bride of Frankenstein, so it was interesting to sit down and see what prior knowledge I had going in through references in other shows and movies. I thought the opening prologue is fascinating because oh how meta it got by having Elsa Lanchester play Mary Shelley (who also plays the bride). Much like any sequel, they do push the thing people love the most about the original more and in this case it's Frankenstein's monster. Boris Karloff basically takes over the movie over Colin Clive and for the most part, and I think it was for the better. They give a lot of character development to the monster as his mind is starting to grow and the scenes where he's on the run is great. Particularly the scene with the blind man is easily the most emotionally moving scene in the movie aside from the ending.

I will say though I thought the movie wasn't nearly as tight as the first movie. They do add more sideplots that don't necessarily add much to the movie like Minnie or the homunculi (even though I enjoyed Doctor Pretorius as a great mad scientist). One of my biggest issues with the movie is they give so little screentime to the Bride. But what they do with that little time was indeed really well executed. Overall I'll give the edge to the original, but I do admire this a lot.

Saw this with the title House of a 1,000 DOLLS. It stars Vincent Price as a nightclub magician/illusionist who hypnotizes, kidnaps, and then sells women to white slavers in Tangiers. Actor George Nader co-stars as a "C" level James Bond type investigating the disappearances of the women.

I'm baffled this didn't get a wide theatrical release. It was a great time and such an intense horror film.

Not sure where else to ask this really but I'm asking for a friend as well as myself. Can anyone recommend any modern made films that have that somewhat dirty indie feel along the lines of Requiem for a Dream, Kids, Spun, Bully, etc?

Probably Enter The Void but I kinda despise it.
