Hustlers

Been awhile since i've been to a strip club so ladies......THANK YOU

PRAISE: Based on the front page $135,000 stripper scam story i went in with low expectations ready to write this off as a silly romp, even though i read a few quick quotes praising the movie and hey i was pleasantly surprised.
Jennifer Lopez is incredible in this and im not just talking about her mesmerizing pole dancing in the film, the lingerie she wears in the movie, the sexy dresses she wears in the movie,the....uhmmm err where was i....oh yes Lopez in her best film role since 1998's Out of Sight. In the film she's
Ramona the godmother of strippers.Lopez portrays her to a T.Easily shifting from loving and helpful to cold as ice.

Constance Wu is great too as Dorothy
a.k.a. Destiny trying to make her way on the strip scene to care of her grandmother and pay for college. It took me a few minutes to recognize that she is the same actress from Crazy Rich Asians...maybe because i felt that film was a bit over hyped and was used as background noise by me.
The friendship between her and Ramona felt very believable .I was so invested in it seeing its evolution was one of the most watchable things in the film.
Keke Palmer got the biggest belly laugh from me and
and Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart was quite funny too
Cardi B and Lizzo turn in memorable cameos.
It's always great when a cast looks like they're having a good time.
When Wall street takes a hit in 2008 it also hits the strip clubs in which brokers would drop huge amounts of cash so the ladies hatch a scheme to maintain the flow of cash and this is where the film displays the tug of war between self preservance and morality in a great way.
I appreciated the balance of humor and drama.

PROBLEMS: The male characters are one note. This one was abusive, this one had problems, this one is a jail bird and thats about it.
The film had a chance to flesh them out more especially with Frank Whalley's character but it's completely missed.
The shifts in tone felt a bit disjointed at times.

Fun...raunchy....sexy.....with heart

BLOOD ALLEY.....Wayne helps a small village full of people escape from Communist China. The movie begins with Wayne escaping from a Communist prison he has been being tortured in....this is the reason he talks to an imaginary friend named "baby" throughout the entire movie.

An interesting but troubled film. Filming started in 1949. Producer Howard Hughes was fighting for total control of RKO studios while also being consumed with paranoia. He shut total productions down at the studio for 6 months while he investigated everyone employed there to make sure they hated communists as much as he did (he wound up firing over 700 people)....he also worked years on the editing of the film to get it perfect. In 1957 he sold his interests in RKO studios which included this movie. When he started production in 1949 he intended the movie to showcase the newest and best jet aircraft....by 1957 the jets featured here were already obsolete. An interesting side note....most of the fancy flying was done by the great Chuck Yeager.

A most atypical John Wayne film. It's a dramedy. Small Catholic college in trying to find a way to stay open decides that a good football team will save it. So the headmaster (Charles Coburn) hires out of work coach (John Wayne) to get a team together. Wayne has custody of his 10 year old daughter (Sherry Jackson) who adores him. One day a social worker (Donna Reed) shows up to tell him that his ex wife (Marie Windsor) has reported him as an unfit parent. She doesn't really want her daughter back, she just wants to eff with Wayne. Wayne and Reed keep meeting and bickering....Wayne and his assistant (Chuck Connors) keep working on ways to illegally get a team together in short notice....and the headmaster keeps having to deal with higher ups in the church who want to shut down the school. Not what you expect from a John Wayne movie.

Power Rangers (2017)

The core team have such great chemistry with each other. Would have liked to have seen a sequel with them.

Latest Predator.

Was pretty bad but not as bad as the trailers made it look.

Still Oscar worthy compared to AvP2
