is this the first car you drove or first car you bought? My parents gave me their old car when I was 17, which was a 1987 Ford Taurus station wagon. It was under my dad's name so technically not mine. But the car died two years ago. I haven't bought a car yet so I guess technically, I don't have my own "first car" yet.

93 Eldorado......Exact copy of my car, had a new transmission, new radiator system, 3 brand new tires, after about 4000 bucks in work done to that car, some "very nice lady" decided to total it in front of my house while it was parked and I was in it. Thank you "very nice lady, that cant keep her dam eyes on the road" thank you.

My first car was a bright red '75 Chevy Vega a lot like this one:

From a distance it looked a little bit like a Camaro or a Corvette, and it was bright red, so of course it was a cop magnet (which is the main reason I think my Dad got it for me, to be honest with you). It had a gutless 4-barrel in it, though, so it really wasn't very fast at all. I got more tickets in that damn car. I drove it for about three years and it taught me how to replace the fuel pump, starter, alternator, radiator, brakes, exhaust manifold and much, more more in it's time with me. It finally started falling apart so bad that I had to just get rid of the damn thing. When I would go around corners, GIANT, BLACK billows of smoke would roll out of the exhaust. Sold it for $250 to a guy who tore it apart, beefed up the suspension, put a new rear end on it, dropped a V8 on it and turned it into a drag racer.

My first was either an 80 or an 81 Chevy Malibu(cant remember what year)
This guy in Kenosha owed my friend 500 bones and he was trying to sell this car to pay him back.So my buddy worked it out where all I paid was 50 bucks and dudes debt was cleared.This thing was such a piece...It didnt even last a year.Once winter had rolled around I noticed it started leaking trans fluid.So me being a broke ass, would top it off with transmission fluid every time I got in and out.I made the stupid mistake of going to the mall for Christmas presents one day and I was stuck on like the second level of mall parking lot traffic trying to leave for over two hours.Once I got to the street that puppy was smokin up.I made it all the way home and when I attempted to parallel park..I didnt have any forward anymore..only reverse worked.
A new transmission would've been over 700 bucks.So Victory Auto Wreckers came and hauled that ***** away and gave me 50 bucks-Broke even
