Whats the appeal of bobba fett

StarWarsAgent said:
and how does that relate to boba fett?
It was a reply to your comment that didn't relate to Boba Fett and thus my reply also doesn't relate to Boba Fett. I'm not sure you understand how conversations work.

I'm trying to point out that people are just here to insult Lucas. That comment had nothing to do with Boba Fett.

on topic..Boba fett is the coolest star wars character of all time.

That would be impossible. Jango is already several levels above Boba.

Nathan, Jango & Boba are the same person. They are clones.

they have the same suit, same ship, look the same and talk the same.

they are the same person.

Welcome to the Hype where no thread ever stays on topic past the first few pages.

Um...no. I mean Boba Fett is pretty cool, but he's not the coolest ever. He's better then Darth Maul though, who would not have made for a good villain past Episode One he was nothing more then a hallow non-character created simply to have a cool fight scene.

Just because they are clones that doesn't make them automatically the same. Boba might be a identical clone, but he grew up under different circumstances than Jango and over the years became a complete different individual.

Thinking pattern, strategy, skill, behavior, they are all drastically different. And thus, they don't count as one and the same person anymore.

So far, from what i've seen. he acts just like his older clone jango. but we will see when he comes out in the TV show. By the way, I met Daniel Logan last year and he signed my boba fett pic :)

In the PT boba fett seemed to be an innocent boy. But I assume that when he saw the jedi fighting against the separatits on geonosis..and Mace kills his "Dad". It's funny how Boba calls him Dad in the PT, that's kinda sad...I am sure he hates the jedi more than anyone..think about this, Boba grew up on kamino and he probably never left the planet before..so he is in the middle of all this all out clone war..I am sure it had an affect on him psychologically like you say. I just can't believe that scene got cut out when Boba picks up the Jetpack and flies away.

this is something that has always bugged me, why do star wars fan boys basiclly orgasm at ever thing this character has been in, he's a crap character

ANH: not even there unless you count the cgi enhancements and is jabbas lackey
empire: moaned, complained and was basiclly a courier
jedi: fly across a pit, got beat up by a blind guy and a giant carpet, got ate by a giant worm

the prequals: turns out to be a crappy clone( so realisticlly the empire has thousands of boba fetts and look how good they are), and does nothing but wimper

the guy just ozooes cool. so what the hell is the appeal

and no before a fan throws it up, the extended universe doesnt count as even old george has said there not canon

Lucas has never said his books/comics/toys are not canon. Actually, after 1995 everything in the EU universe because all canon. If a book has the logo "Lucas Books" on it, it's canon.
Learn to spell, it's Boba Fett, And He is not a crap character for one simple reason...He captured Han Solo.

Boba Was Solo's greatest fear and a fearsome, ruthless bounty hunter.

Wow another topic that started out about star wars, & turned into a "Look at how cool I am because I hate Lucas" topic. Surprise, surprise. Get a life haters! get a f***ing life!

in the Star Wars Holiday specia,l Boba Fett in his first appearance,.....was so cool!!! :up

Lucas has said plenty of times that if it hasn't been seen in a film it isn't official canon yet.

FYI Boba Fett didn't capture Solo...he just followed him to cloud City. Vader did the capturing.

yeah i know the clones came from jango, but boba is a clone of jango so therefore, he is the same as the storm troopers

not really. storm troopers had accelerated aging. boba was raised as jango's son. there would be a difference in training and experience.

mmm, it started out as a "Look how cool I am 'cause I think Boba Fett was a wuss/crap character and all the geeks are insane to love him." thread.

And I fail to see how talking about your problems with a writer/director's films means you need to get a life, but talking about how much you love them doesn't.

actully its was more of a mind set of "i never liked this character but every other movie buff loves him so what the hell am i missing" also the dissucison that got me thinking about it came from another board where a poster was trying to prove that boba was the best villian of the 80's and was better than such ones as skeletor, megatron, cobra commander and a few others.

i enjoy star wars films every once in a while but would never really call myself a fan

Tom Bissel wrote a great essay on this very subject, "Pale Starship, Pale Rider: The Ambiguous Appeal of Boba Fett". Go find it, It's a lark and a half.
