THE QUIET

Disturbing film about a screwed up family and the "deaf" teen who lives with them. Not the best in the world but i couldnt stop watching it.Plus the women in the film Elisha Cuthbert,Camilla Belle,Edie Falco, and Katy Mixon are very attractive.

THE GOLDEN COMPASS

Though not as bold and enthralling as The Lord of the Rings,The Golden Compass still impressed and entrnced me for the most part.
I was introduced to a beautiful world a mixture of a Jules Verne and Rudyard Kipling.I usually stay away from films in which the main hero or character is a child because they usually end up being obnoxious.
Not the case with first timer Dakota Blue Richards as Lyra Belacqua.
She attacks the role with vigor and a high spirited performance.
Nicole Kidman man can this woman glow on screen or what?
Yes she portrays and ice queen again but she does it so well, coming off at first as some fairy godmother, but there is something sinister behind those beautiful blue eyes.
Tons of characters are introduced and then vanish from the screen without much development, but this is the introductory part of the story.
Most impressive Ian McKellen as Iorek Byrnison the strong brave ice bear, and impressive fight sequence so much so half the theatre applauded during it and after.
So will Lyra find out more about her parents? What part will (Daniel Craig) Lord Asriel,(Sam Elliott) Lee Scoresby, and (Eva Green) Serafina Pekkala in the upcoming great war? what does Marisa Coulter truly want of Lyra?
Just like Lyra's loyal friend Roger (Ben Walker) states thats an awful lot ! Yes....but im looking forward to it.

Beowulf

Since 2001's Final Fantasy:The Spirits Within, feature length computer animated films have improved. The Polar Express (still havent seen this one) which was put down by many critics was one of the first to use the motion capture feature. The most flawless was the combination of the aforementioned SFX and live action in the Lord of The Rings films.
In Beowulf, some characters look amazing beautiful and flawless(
Angelina Jolie as Grendel's Mother and Anthony Hopkins as Hrothgar )
Others look lifeless or straight out of one of the Shrek Films.
Still Beowulf has wonderful eye popping 3-D(the best way to view this feature) a story that held my interest and interesting characters.
It will be interesting to see who next takes the reigns and advances this technology.I have always wondered why someone hasnt expanded the small but amazing SFX segments found in many of the video games today.
