Can someone fill me in on whats going on with Sylar? I dont see anyone debating this mystery and yet I'm completely baffled. How did he use his powers when he killed Eve? And didnt he escape? I mean the glass was broken so what happened there? He goes from being completely awake and powerful and ready to escape...to being basically tranquilized in the next episode. Were they able to detain him somehow? I'm asking all these questions because the show doesnt seem to have answered them, or maybe I didnt pay enough attention. I'd hate to think theyre plotholes...

well........heres the short version i guess ..after EDEN killed herself...HRG and hatian came in an load his a$$ with darts (as seen in the online comics). thas it u didnt miss much..lol

I don't think we know how he was able to break the glass suddenly, but you answered your own question as far as why he didn't get out. He was tranquilized by guards. You can see the actual take-down in the online comic. With so much other story to tell, they needed a quick way to tell the audience he'd been downed and never got out.

I think they are letting us fill in a lot of the blanks, but they generally offer enough peripheral info for it to make sense. I don't think they've gypped us on anything important except how he got to Eden when he couldn't before.

Thats something else that confused me. Did Sylar kill Eden or did she kill herself? I'm surprised theyre relying on the online comics for stuff like this though...I mean not everyone, especially casual viewers, read them. I hope they dont take it for granted.

I'm just gonna assume the Haitian wasnt around or something...

You can see in the episode that Eden turns the gun on herself and the look on Sylar's face confirms it. She suicided so he couldn't take her power. If Sylar had killed her, he'd have her power and would have been able to get away.

Sylar had to be under control whether the Haitian was nearby or not, so it can't just be a matter of his being too far away. Sylar is too important to leave such a gaping hole for escape.

Nothing critical to the plot has been presented in the comics that can't be figured out from regular viewing. You do have to think a little, the story isn't being hand-fed to us.

if there was sometype of power inhibitor in the room, (not just Haitian being around) I think Eden before going in shut it off so that she can use her power

He wouldn't necessarily have been able to get away. They kept Eden under control. The Haitian could do the same to Sylar, even if he possessed Eden's power.

Good point. It begs the question, though, how was Sylar contained when the Haitian wasn't around? Are there additional restraints? Can he deactivate powers from long-distances?

I'm still rather confused by how Sylar *suddenly* got around whatever was controlling him. How long did he know he could get out? Was he waiting for the right opportunity? Or could he "smell" Eden's power, so he realized he could get her (We've only seen HRG talk to him, and he doesn't have a power that we know of)? Is that why he was tranq-ed? He's simply too powerful to allow his brain to function at full capacity? If he's allowed full use of his brain, can he figure out how to break his restraints? It seems he did that despite HRG's efforts to confuse his brain/powers with drugs. Maybe that harkens back to his watchmaker skills, understanding how things work and how they are broken (weaknesses?).

thats what i was thinking that his power just allowed him to adapt/resist the drugs...OR like i seen a few people were sayin that the lil cockroach migt have helped sylar out to adapt to the drugs thus the drugs having no effect

and so far nobody has mentioned the thing that Sylar had on the back of his head

I just figured that's how they were feeding him his drugs, like an IV, except right to the brain. Or that it gave them readouts of his vitals and brain activity. Maybe it's more than that?

I thought that was where he was squeezing the powers into his brain

I think that was a part of the testing they did on him. Maybe get some samples from his brain to test it.

It's not immediately clear, but Eden's last dialogue seemed to indicate that she deactivated whatever safeguards were in place to prevent Sylar from using his powers down there... she deactivated them so that she could use HER powers there, and before she could, Sylar used his.

And Sylar seemed to learn how to survive death (for lack of better words) from the cockroach... which is pretty monstrous.

I don't think they're done explaining exactly how his powers work. I wish they would spend more time on him than the Niki/Jessica thread, that's starting to bore me. They need more supervillains on this show.

Can anyone clearify the powers Sylar has? I know he has telekinesis but the file that HRG has says theres more.

Telekinesis is a power he absorbed. As far as we can tell, he has the ability to understand how things work and how they are broken (like a watchmaker, which he is). It seems that he is able to see how the brain controls different powers, so he's opening up all the supers' heads to "read" and manifest their powers. As to how he alters his own brain or DNA, we don't know yet. He killed Brian in "Six Months Ago" to get telekinesis.

When Sylar throws Claire against a wall, jumps or moves huge distances, or survives a fall, is he using telekinesis or are those separate powers, like super-jump, or super-strength?

So what's that thing on the back of his head? An inhibator? Yeah, I can't spell.

I'm guessing that he is using telekinesis all those times. He threw Claire into that wall with enough force that it crushed one side of her face in, though he may be working with that extra strengh that most psychopaths have, but I think that with the way she hit that wall he had to be using telekinesis. But this is just my assumption since we haven't heard anything specific about what other abilities he has stolen.

I think he has super strength...he lift up Jackie with one arm, and he did hit Claire with his arm...if it was telekinesis he wouldn't have to touch her at all.
I wonder if he has freezing abilities...he froze that guy while eating cereal, but he doesnt seem to use that power much.

I was wondering if he had freezing powers or just put the guy in the freezer. I know he has the memory power, telekinsis and the power to copy power by looking at brains. If he had freezing powers where wold he get them?
