I remember when I was in grade 8. Night before May 4, I couldnt sleep!! like sooo ****ing excited for that. Next day, when I was in my class, everyone talked about Spider man 3 and they couldnt wait to see that on tonight too. After school, my friend picked me up and went to the theater and everyone was pretty crazy in there. I saw sooo many people wore spider man's mask and walked around in the theater. I brought large bag of popcorn and cup of Pepsi. I HAD to wait for like 2 hrs to just get a good seat. I CANT explain how I felt when the light went out. When the story was getting deeper...I felt there was something wrong with that movie and then I saw that emo PP part....I got so MAD! I said" OHH COOME ON! " then I saw everyone was pretty mad but some laughed too tho. When I saw the end credit, I got up and yell " WHAT THE ****!? You JUSST ruined my fav character!". Then I saw a guy got in a fight with some staffs from the movie theater cuz he wanted to get his money back. They wont give his money back. Then he threw the popcorn AND pop on the floor and screamed. I laughed sooo hard

Good times.

What is your story??

( sorry my grammar is soo bad)

I hated it when I first saw it. I was extremely upset because I thought they ruined it. Where the first two had you completely involved with these characters and it felt intimate and honest where it could have been just a hollow action movie. This one felt like it was too rushed for that, and people were laughing at the characters.
I still think it feels a little soulless, but it could have been way worse. There's a lot of stuff I like in it (Christopher Young's villain themes, the Actors are clearly doing their best with the material, the fight scenes are always incredibly well-done, it orchestrates all of the kajillion plot threads pretty damn well, the saturday night fever sequence was pretty damn funny. And I like that Peter gets to forgive Uncle Ben's killer by the end of the movie. That's a brilliant way to wrap up the trilogy.) but there's a lot that sucks. The script could have been a lot better, I think the choice to have a thirtysomething man dress like an emo 13 year old was...misguided, and the repetitive re-use of Danny Elfman's score for the first film became annoying. Where Elfman had scored Peter's ark in the first movie so well, you wanted to "hear" peter's arc in the other movies like you did with the first one. But they just play samples from the first movie. It gets old after a while.

I was pretty much prepared for a lot of the rubbish in Spider-Man 3, as I'd been following it's production intently on here. I knew about Sandman being Uncle Ben's killer, Topher Grace being shoe horned in as Venom because of Avi Arad, Harry's bland looking costume, the over stuffed villain free for all in the finale, emo Peter Parker etc.

I thought there was a big chance it would be like the second one, very good. Maybe even better.

By the scene of Jameson and the buzzer I wanted someone to put me out of my misery. When the scene of the strutting Peter came, I just knew Batman & Robin wasn't the last terrible superhero movie out there.

My friend and I were in a play that weekend, and the dress rehearsal was that Thursday, after that (at 10) we went to the theater and were first in line. It got packed later.
The whole audience was very loving, cheering, and clapped at the end. Great experience. We loved it as well.
The next four times I saw it, the audience was basically the same.

I saw the funny scenes on youtube, was very excited
Watched it when it was new full on youtube some weeks later, got disappointed

Loved it later

Now that would have been an interesting twist. :funny:

I had been anticipating Spider-Man 3 since the first image of Sandman was released in November 2005, so I had been waiting for SM3 for about a year and six months so I was excited, but I was not psyched since I had known WAYYY to much about the movie by this point. I left the theater emotionally confused, because I was shocked as to how they raped Venom (my favorite character) and how terrible the film was all together. It was a very hard day.

I was 20 at the time, and I was extremely excited. I got tickets for the midnight showing for my mom and I. My mom never ever goes to the movies, but she was excited for this one, and she actually went to see Spider-Man 2 with me at midnight as well. What can I say? The two of us are big fans, and seeing Spider-Man together is a mother-daughter bonding thing, because my mom is awesome. :)

I remember I had classes the next day, and I had made sure to not miss any class days during that semester (even when I was sick) just so I could skip my morning classes after seeing the movie. That's how excited I was for Spider-Man. Haha.

Anyway, my mom loved the movie, but I was conflicted at the time (which had something to do with the rowdy and distracting audience- it was Washington D.C., haha). I know that I didn't hate what I had just seen, but I felt disappointed. I saw it in theaters for the second time with a friend at some point that Summer, and I enjoyed the second viewing a lot more. Right now, I can easily say that I like and enjoy Spider-Man 3, though it's heavily flawed and not even close to being as good as the first two films.

Oh, and going back to my mom never going to the movies: She hasn't been to a movie theater since Spider-Man 3. And the only movies she had seen in theaters before that were Spider-Man 1 and 2, so I think that's a big compliment to Raimi's movies. Haha.

^^The only movie of the trilogy I watched in theaters was Spidey 2, and it was the last
I hate theaters

I can honestly say that no movie(before or since)has consumed me more than Spider-man 3. It was the most anticipated film of my life. I mean,I've followed all the Spidey films closely, but I followed this film like a religion. From that first pic of Spidey in the black suit,to the first teaser trailer,to the movie itself. Even now,I'm still a bit obsessed with it. lol Obviously,Venom and the black suit had ALOT to do with it.
I remember getting tickets online and going to a midnight showing with my friend. I was SO excited and so was everyone else there. The theater had a life size Venom statue in it's lobby and people were wearing their Spider-man shirts. I remember one guy even came dressed as symbiote Spidey and would shout,"10 minutes untill Spider-man 3!" and then "5 minutes to Spider-man 3!" It was so fun!
I remember that when the film was over I was blown away. I LOVED it. In fact,I went home and went to bed, then got up the very next morning to see it again. I called off work just to see it. I saw it a total of 7 times in the theater. The most I've seen any film. Each time I saw it,I was never bored. Although I did notice that at the end of that first midnight showing I went to,reaction was mixed after the movie. I also saw Spider-man 2 at a midnight showing and when that movie ended like,90% of the audience clapped and cheered. With Spider-man 3 it was only like,45%.
Truthfully,I think that because I was so excited to see it,I never saw the flaws the film had. I had built it up so much in my head that even if the film sucked,I wouldn't admit it to myself and I would've loved it. Now,when I watch it,I see how crowded the film was,how much Venom got screwed over;etc. BUT...with that being said,I still love it. It's a very fun and entertaining film with alot of heart behind it. I feel that it's a great movie, but I also know that it could've been so much better. But I have never,or will ever get all the hate the movie gets.

^^I don't find it as amusing as you do, at least it's nice to be amusing

On that thursday, I whent to my theater at about 9:15 PM and I was first in line for the midnight premiere out of 200 people.

This is kind of funny. My parents were driving me from a friend's house after studying for an exam. We were listening to the radio, and a station had a contest for winning Spider-Man 3 midnight showing tickets. The catch was that you had to bring a drawing of Spider-Man, and bring it to a mall where the cinema was located. So I told my dad it would be great to win those tickets.

The conversation was more or less the following:

Me: "It would be great to see the movie before everyone at midnight"
Dad: "Do you want the tickets?"
Me: "Sure, maybe but..."
Dad: "Do you really want them?"
Me: "Amm yes but..."
Dad: "THAT'S IT!"

And he drove me to the mall. My mom throwed me an envelope and a pen, and I did a rough drawing of Spider-Man while we got there. When we arrived I jumped out of the car and showed my poor drawing to the radio guys. They looked at me with indiference and gave me two tickets.

I was so excited. Then we heard that they would be giving away tickets the next day. I just had two tickets, but I wanted my family to come with me, so I went to try to win some tickets, and buying extra ones for the rest of my relatives.

So after school I went alone to the mall with a backpack full of Spider-Man goodies (in case they would ask for something related to it. And an old Walk-Man to listen to the radio. I spent the entire afternoon walking through the mall, listening to the station. At five or six o' clock, they made the announcment. So I ran to the Cafe they said that they will gave the tickets, and the only catch was saying what kinds of Coffes they were serving.

While I almost tripped at the stairs, I made it to the Cafe. I read the menu and learned the options. I said it to them and I won another pair of tickets.

I was so excited, and had high expectations for the film. And then I saw it. Not very good, not a disaster... almost a disaster perhaps. After the film I said "Meh" and walked out.

Funny times... :)

Proud to be nerds:D

^^ Agreed, lol.

I hyped the movie from summer 2004 (right after S-M2) all the way until release, and it was sooo much fun. Staying up until 1:00 AM for trailers and all, lol. I joined SHH! in July of '06 and things were just great.

I always walk out of a movie rating it from great to decent, mainly because theater experiences turn out much better than home viewings. It landed on a decent note, but watching it over again left a bad taste over time.

Do you guys remember when a piece of the final battle leaked online from Italy right before it opened here? I tried to resist watching but my resolve lasted about 5 minutes.

'Ciao, Parker!' :woot:
