I was really looking forward to this film as many of you were, but was incredibly disappointed by what I saw last night. The movie started out incredibly well and was moving along properly. The point where I felt like it was starting to get bizaare was when Spider-Man kissed Gwen Stacy. I understand that he was getting a bit over-confident and thought he was the *****, but he was acting like the symbiote had already gotten a hold of him. When he kissed her it felt like he was completely out-of-character and they only wrote that in because "Spider-Man's a sinner". What made it worse was how they made Mary Jane Lana from Smallville and infused her with a *****-load of passive/aggression. The way she b*tched to Peter because her life wasn't going as well as his kept them from actually have a happy relationship and instead we got more of an angst-filled one like in Spidey 2. I started to groan when she went back to Harry but what completely lost me was when she broke up with Peter because Harry had told her to, why didn't she just tell Peter that Harry has got his memory back and is wanting her to break up with him. What influence did Harry have over her? Does he have super-hearing? Was he threatening to kill her on the spot from a hundred yards away if she spilled to Peter? After that I completely lost interest and watched this camp, soap-opera fall into oblivion.

MJ's first Broadway performance. It's where the roller coaster started.

It didn´t loose at any point... but as the movie went on... I began to scratch my head more often

It lost me when Peter did his dance number at the restaurant. Wtf was Raimi thinking? Venom got me back into it, although he wasn't enough to save the movie.

the jazz club scene didnt lose me...i thought it was a little too..weird, but the end of it saved it. got me back on track.

the out of control crane was alittle questionable too..

I think the movie was perfect right up until Venom met up with Sandman. That was when I thought the movie lost me.Then we got a rushed and very cheesy ending with no real climax. To be honest the last 20 -25 minutes is what lost me,and it was primarily bad screenwriting.

I think the club dance was what threw me out of the story. I mean, I can suspend my disbelieve, but that was just so random and akward I didn't know what was going on anymore. And right after the action train ride began and totally derailed with the weird ending when Harry died and Sandman just flew into the sunshine --> WTF?

But I still like the film, to an extend.

Yeah and the fact Gwen's dad didn't care about his daughter hanging of the side of the building and Brock not giving a ***** about the well-being of his "girl" after Spidey saved her.

The meteorite crashing near Peter and Mary Jane without his Spider-sense going off was where it all began and it pretty much got worse from there.

It never lost me. It just never held onto me as well as Spider-Man 1 & 2 did.

Like 20 minutes or a half hour into it, I was like WTF? Were this far into the movie, and we've only seen Peter for like maybe five minutes at the most.

I think that's where I first started not feeling good about the movie.

are you kidding me?

spider-man finally had a decent amount of screen time in this movie.

I don't know if Raimi or Avi is more to blame for the let down. I suspect it's Avi, because Venom was his idea, and that's the reason the movie felt so rushed.

I still think neither Venom nor Sandman shouldn't have been in this movie. In the comic book Sandman was never that great of a villain, and in the movie, despite his mind blowing effects, he wasn't that great of a villain either. The Uncle Ben connection did not work, and it ruined the best origin in super hero history.

The asteroid that fallen - oh look! - near Peter and attach randomly to him.

The movie was two and a half hours long. I'd think that yeah, he will be fit in there somewhere.

but during the first 20 minutes or so, he wasn't in it much, and at that time, I started to feel a little worried about the movie. The question of the thread title was really asking at what point, did you start to have bad feelings about the movie.

It didn't lose me whatsoever. I did think 'huh?' when Venom meets up with Sandman as that scene was rushed, and also when Sandman just vanished into thin air at the end.

But IMO, the movie was great nonetheless.

I got lost in the love story that stretched through the middle of the movie. It just seemed to take up too big of a chunk of the movie for me and made it too soap-opera like for me. Eh, still haven't seen it a second time around so I might be being too harsh on that right now, but that was where I initially got lost.

I liked the movie. Didn't get lost either. I think alot of people expected the same kind of hero movie with a badguy and a goodguy. But the real "villain" in this movie was Peter's Vengence/Darkside. Sandman was only there to bring out Peter's feelings of revenge, which he did. Eddie Brock/Venom was only there to be a personification of Peter's Darkness that he could confront, which he also did.

Now, don't get me wrong, I think that Venom was under-developed and could have easily survived this movie and have his true confrontation with Spider-Man in another sequal. But alas - unless they pull something really far from up their arse Venom is dead and gone (I saw the skeleton) but for what his role was in the grand scheme of the movies - he did his job.

Stan Lee's "cameo" he spoke almost two complete sentences,I knew the movie was gonna go downhill after that................:spidey:

Honesty, too much angst with MJ I felt like she must have been off her meds or it was that time of the month because she was definatel losing it.

Harry-after he lost his memory for a whole four seconds, that stupid grin he had on his face was making me cringe.

Brock before he got infected with the black goo......he was annoying,I like him better when he became the cgi Venom..............

Breaking into Song and Dance just reminded me of Buffy,Xena and any other sci-fi television show, that has been on too long and has to have episode when actors are singing and dancing....left me thinking.. I thought I was watching an episode of "Smallville because of the superhero and Charmed because of all the crying, hugging and angst between the characters".

Hey did anyone else notice the fact that no one said a damn thing about the crane after Spidey saved Gwen?

did it fall? did it tear up more buildings?
did it merge with other Constructicons and form Devastator?
