Where are all the Marvel games??

oh and fox has been ina feud with marvel since the events of the third X MEN movie I stated this befor they and fox aren' t in good terms with each other due to the contract marvel sold their right away with the movies agd can put the x-men in any other movie or use the word Mutant cause some how they sold off the rights to use that word too which is why agents of shield has the word gifted now in it's place.

they have been trying to get it back. but can't and they can use the comic versions but cause Joe is obsessed with the movie franchise's that's his priority period.

As I said to someone in another forum
From:Dc Heroes?

what I know is when they asked as shown in that video link From EPN.TV in that quote . When they were asked by EPN.TV how it was possible , the man that's the head of lego video games period, that was supposed to explain it didn't Explain it in other way then he felt like doing so. So it's ether that or they have some Special pull. so as I told that person there . So I'm going with that. other wise that man in charge should have explained it better. they some special pull the kid a publisher has.
Okay? I dont see what that has to do with what I wrote, which was clarifying an incorrect statement

Okay? I dont see what that has to do with what I wrote, which was clarifying an incorrect statement
Don't care. they can do what they want lego is their ip and all they work on and their have are big enough to be a publisher inm their own right. they can do as they please. with out contest. that head dev in that video says he felt like doing so, that what it is .

Again, what does that have to do with what I wrote? You said Traveler's Tales isn't owned by WB and I clarified that they are and have been for a while. Whatever the logistics are between Lego, TT and any other IP is irrelevant to my point which was pretty straight forward. WB owning the company and publishing the bulk of their games since buying them isn't an opinion, its a fact. There isn't any room for argument there

oh I'm not arguing it's not good for me to start up with it or be in those. I by passed it they said they can do what want there cause they felt like it. he that ru the lego games likes marvel anyone that can say that on international tv since EPN.TV is shown in Australia japan ETc and orth America due to bei more the one network that's what it comes down to me. "he has the pull of a publisher" cause lego is it's own thing which they them selves publish and he can't be contested.

You may want to keep doing this and call it a argument but when that head dev can say that he can cause he felt like it and said no farther he has that pull.

this is that dead pool thing all over again with TQ the Vp of marvel and what he said to x play when it was around. I'm going with what they(the people actually involved) said.

Okay, I give up; you're right. TT Games isn't owned by WB Interactive. They are an independent publisher that publishes their own games and do whatever they want

I've stated before to someone in a different forum the reason Lego can get aways with it is cause they are an independent publisher . If they were just a studio ad were fully/totally owned by Warner it wouldn't have happened. they can do any Ip they feel like.
The LEGO Group does not publish the LEGO video games. They gave the rights to the LEGO video games to TT Games which is a studio that is fully and totally owned by Warner Bros. But Disney and Warner Bros. have had a history of co-operation with Disney/LEGO properties such as LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean and the Lucasfilm properties such as LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Indiana Jones.

Disney is pretty willing to let WB Games publish properties that really don't matter to Disney's overall strategy. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes really doesn't factor into the grand scheme of Disney's Marvel branding other than they get to profit off of it and so does WB Games.

And it's weird that the man running the place at TT can't say that . or can't be bothered to. And no I'm not being defiant or argumentative (as I said not good for me any more) it's just odd of him. it's both weird/ odd on his part. That's just strange.

The guy flat out says WB "let us" make the game and in that same video its stated that the game was published by WB. TT wouldn't need permission from WB had they been independent and not fully owned by WB as Hippie mentions

As I said I'm not arguing with hippie at all but the man did dance around for a bit and that was when he was saying wb gave them permission half way mumbles that part. but be was able to say they like marvel and seem it was there chose to be doing so.
well he also did say that warner has a history of doing other licenses too prior to that, but what hippie said made it better understood then that. and that could have said on screen for better clarification.
That was a weird part from that man and why it's disturbing to me. What hippie said isn't hard for that man to have said on screen Time wasn't that limited.

Btw just cause I said what I said after hippie said doesn't mean I don't believe him as I said it's odd that man couldn't speak up better which is why I said it was odd . that question really threw him off which is weird.

Ok from the recent AMA ad what mr. Brevik told Greg in up at noon that they work for Marvel (Disney not mentioned) it's permission wise

This is what they stated on movie characters

ELECTRO

Has been announced he will be playable.

Marvel has different contracts with others some of which Disney isn't involved in & gaz isn't a part of the Disney deal/contract

And lastly here's detail on Disney for today

GI's Our Take
This is great news for Disney, and assuming that Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes 2.0 does just as well as its predecessor, the company should be sitting pretty for the rest of the year. Hopefully this means Disney Interactive will be able to take some creative risks and produce more exciting projects down the road.

Disney Interactive marvels at a revenue surge in Q3 2014

2

Disney Interactive, the gaming arm of Disney's multi-appendaged corporate beast, is performing better than last year in the company's third quarter of 2014. Revenue for the Interactive business is up 45 percent to $266 million, while operating income is up from a $58 million loss last year to a $29 million surplus this year.

"The increase in game sales was driven by Disney Infinity, which was released in the fourth quarter of the prior year, and the success of the Tsum Tsum and Frozen Free Fall mobile games," Disney's Q3 financial statement reads. "The decrease in product development costs was due to fewer titles in development and the benefit of restructuring activities."

The Interactive division is the smallest revenue-generator at Disney again this quarter, outpaced by media networks, parks and resorts, studio entertainment (films), and consumer products. Overall revenue is up 8 percent in Q3 to $12.5 billion. This quarter's results set records at Disney.

"We're extremely pleased with these results and we are also thrilled with the spectacular performance of Guardians of the Galaxy, which holds great promise as a new franchise for our company and once again reinforces the tremendous value of Marvel," The Walt Disney Company CEO Robert Iger says.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes 2.0 Edition hits shelves on September 23 in North America, now with 100 percent more Guardians of the Galaxy.

Every o
ne else also can use the comic characters of the MU, but with marvel with infinity and most other places marvel will be pushing their personal movie stuff, that they own movie wise and tv wise. So this is why it's happened with ultimate spider man.

If the X-Men show up it'll be the o
nes from the comic's or until they finally make another show on tv (animated or other wise) with them that has nothing to do with fox cause of their feud and contract. But seeing they some how locked them selves away from the word mutant on tv with that movie contract with fox it'll be tough.

Genese Davis : San Diego Comic Con Action-RPG Panel Insights

Posted Aug 08, 2014 by Suzie Ford

The San Diego Comic-Con showcased quite a few of our exciting video game panels, one of which was focused on the Action-RPG genre. David Brevik (Gazillion Entertainment) visionary behind Diablo and Diablo II, Jared Gerritzen (Major League Gaming), David Eddings (Gearbox Software), James Schmalz (Digital Extremes), and Chris Lee (En Masse Entertainment) joined me on location to discuss the evolution of Action-RPGs.

From turn-based to real-time action, it was a pleasure to hear from the movers and shakers on how far the Action-RPG genre has come and where the genre could be going in the future.

We began the panel with a brief glimpse into the history of Action-RPGs. When asked which Action-RPGs have influenced their gaming career, David Brevik referenced how Moria was the basis for Diablo. The entire action RPG genre came into its own at that point in time. Jared jumped in and mentioned how Diablo defined this genre by combining first-person shooter twitch-like movements with an RPG. It was both shocking and captivating. David Eddings mentioned how Zork was one of the first action RPGs because, while it was all text, the player still felt that compelling gameplay aspect that Action-RPGs offer. Other panelists mentioned Kingdom Hearts and Borderlands being influential Action-RPGs. The Legend of Zelda was also mentioned as one of the first influential action games where the player’s really cared about the characters.
The panelists went on to discuss how the genre has changed and evolved mentioning how Final Fantasy’s turn-based games gave the player the ability to watch his/her character navigate the world. In addition, how procedurally generated games such as Diablo II gave players the option to play the game over and over. Multiplayer function is great for the genre because players get to create and maintain long-distance friendships.
The RPG aspect, of course, is a very big part of this Action genre, the panelists said. This discussion point led to the panelists describing how much RPGs in general have impacted the game industry at large. Lee mentioned how RPG elements are in nearly every game out there from online gaming, to social elements, to the evolution of characters. Eddings mentioned that AAA developers' goal when creating any RPG is to fulfill the player’s fantasy of being the hero, a race car driver, a football star, ultimate fighter, etc.
Davis-Aug8-1_t.jpg

From there we moved in to the evolution of games. Schmalz agreed with other panelists that they could foresee a future game coming out and lasting for six or seven years because of the amount of transmedia, new content, lore, and evolution of characters that can be infused into one game. Lee feels that most games will shift in to this perpetual existence, meaning there will be no more sequels, just games that are released and go on with updates and new content.

When asked where the industry is going in the future, the panelists described how building communities and keeping players interested is key. Brevik mentioned how developers can’t ignore what players want because they are so many entertainment options out there competing with any given video game. For instance, Marvel Heroes is updated every week. It wasn't good at first, he said, but by building and communicating with audiences, we were able to improve the game and want to continue improving it based on our communities feedback.

In talking abut this perpetually existing game, the topic of Free to Play merging with Action-RPGs also came up. F2P allows for a free trial that developers hope will turn into paid subscribers, Gerritzen said. The challenge for developers is the need to pay employees salaries balanced against what the community wants. While ads can pull the player out of the gaming experience and pay to win exploits the customer, pay to decorate or customize your character is a better option when utilizing the free to play model, Eddings added.

Gerritzen mentioned that regardless of all this, a good game is the bottom line. No one will pay to play a bad game. Community is paramount. This is not like the movie industry where the audience's needs can be guessed or ignored. Without the community's needs being fulfilled, there is no game and ultimately, no jobs.
The Action-RPG genre is an intriguing and mega-fun genre, that is sure to continue surprising and exciting us in the future. I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to David Brevik, James Schmalz, Chris Lee, David Eddings, Jared Gerritzen, Gazillion Entertainment, Major League Gaming, Digital Extremes, En Masse Entertainment, Gearbox Software, and the countless producers, supporters, and fans. Thank you for your dedication and passion for the industry and for your valuable time.

Who owns Marvel games? Marvel, Disney or Activision?

If Disney, they would give the rights to EA. This is the company that didn't have the brains to make Battlefront themselves so they let EA make it.

If Activision well they won't have them for much longer I guess.

If Marvel owns there gaming rights, they are just being lazy as ****. I mean sure DC had problems but when Batman Arkham Asylum was being developed, a Superman and a Flash game were being developed too. Superman game got canceled because Factor 5 (who was developing the game) got bankrupted and I don't know what happened with Flash.

Marvel keeps making ****** mobile game. God I hate mobile games.

if EA had it you won't like it (if it was just Bioware it's be fine but it's not )and you won't like it if was in Activison since they screwed marvel over dead pool on purpose ether.

they need to start their own in house studio/ publisher house like they did with the movies .

It's a no win. I think Activision's days are numbered but once Marvel gets all their gaming rights back, I doubt they will form their own studio and make their own games and I don't Disney can make Marvel games since they don't even wanna make Star Wars games.

I dislike EA but I could see them getting Marvel games.

Disney bought all those back for them already on the former but they don't know what to do. like I said they are better off with what they did with their movies start a publisher studio of their own with Disney backing them but not stepping in I'd like to see people from marvel that have the same back ground(In that they have played games and have worked in the games industry for a bit) As Jim lee people that can run the creative side for Marvel's Games division that have worked there like Joe Madureira writer Greg Rucka too the latter of which is working on a game like this http://www.siliconera.com/tag/ar-k/

has a history i the games industry prior to even that let TQ Jefferson just Handel the money
