As the title says which headquarters should be used in the movie?

The Avengers Mansion: A mansion in NYC the size of a city block. It's ordinary exterior hides the state of the art technology and Quinjest hanger housed beneath it.

The Triskelion: A massive SHIELD facility off the coast of NYC. Doubles as both a headquarters for SHIELD and the Ultimates as well as a prison for the superhuman prisoners in SHIELD custody.

Hydrobase: A high-tech floating base off of NYC disguised as a natural island. Used as both an Avengers Headquarters and an aquatic research station.

Avengers Tower: A massive skyscraper dwarfing all the others in NYC.

The Helicarrier: Never really a headquarters for the Avengers in the comic, this was the main headquarters of SHIELD. A floating carrier able to travel anywhere in the world.

I know this may make me a little unpopular but, as cool as the helicarrier is, I don't see it working for a movie. Marvel has thus far kept their movies grounded in reality, for the most part, with a few fantastical elements thrown in.

The Triskelion or Avengers Tower seem the most likely, and appropriate, way to go.

I actually have no idea what the Triskelion is, I'm most used to the Mansion.

Take a look in the Ultimates comics and it should give you a good idea Aesop.

In all honesty I don't think they really need a "headquarters" so to speak. In the comics books sure. But this is a film thats trying to be as grounded as it possibly can. Considering the characters involved, its already difficult in its own way.

If they really needed one I'd say just let them be at a fort somewhere.

I'd be alot happier if they recruited the people for the roster. And got them equiped with gear and on their merry way.

Ultimate Comics?

lolpass.

I'll stick with the Avengers Mansion.

Okay here's my opinion. Take it or leave it...

Avengers Mansion
Now, overall, I'm a purist, but the Avengers mansion is pretty boring and, to me, not an accurate representation of the base that a multi-billion dollar government super-team would have. Plus, while classic, the Avengers mansion is really quite similar to the X-Mansion.
The Triskelion
A decent base, I guess. I particularly like the idea of keeping prisoners here... it could lead to some pretty unique scenes. That said, I'd like to stay away from the Ultimates 'verse, if possible.
Hydrobase
I am unfamiliar with the Hydrobase, but it sounds really stupid. And kind of reminds me of the stupid aquatic base in GI Joe. And I'd like to keep to as few analogous points as possible with that piece of trash.
Avengers Tower
Seems like a cop-out. We've already seen the Baxter Building.
The Helicarrier
That leaves the Helicarrier, which got my personal vote. Not only is this the coolest base, but it also isn't grounded in one spot. Think about it... if the Avengers are global, or even national, it's not going to do them much good being tied to NYC. Remember the total Helicarrier ripoff in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. That was frickin' awesome.

Suprised more people didn't want Avengers Tower. I think it's both professional and glamourous for a superhero team to live in which should set the tone of the film nicely.

The Mansion.

I want to see an Avengers movie, not those unpleasant psychos called The Ultimates.

Alas, it represents the typical American mindset of much of this decade.

PS: Mansion. Hydrobase was okay, but won't work in the film. And the others just aren't the Avengers.

Does anyone know where the Stark Expo in Iron Man 2, is located? The reason I asked is because from the pics below, It is very huge. And if it is like a festival or something, it would soon be torn down to be a vacent lot. HINT.

Maybe Tony Stark could team with Nick Fury & SHIELD, and build a new facility. Maybe Stark could move his employees into the facility, and combine with SHIELD operations.

The name on the facility would be Stark International, but be considered SHIELD's secret base of operation on lower levels of the building.

So technically it would be a mix of the Stark Tower, SHIELD facility, and some elements of the Avengers Mansion could be thrown in. It would all make sense, since Tony has the most dough.

I'd like to see them use the Tower or the Hellicarrier.

i kinda like the idea of the triskeion, maybe fuse it with one of the others, or jsut go helecarier, or have them get a base after the climax as part of the resolution

Even though I'm not a fan of the Ultimates, I do like the idea of the Triskelion, but being relatively small. I'm getting the idea that Shield is still relatively new, so huge, massive bases would seem odd to me. Plus, I kinda like the idea of having a prison there, until The Vault is built.

In Avengers 2 (hoping we get it!), I think the Helicarrier will be plausible and the best way to go; Shield headquarters being mobile (and difficult to get to for all but the 'best' supervillains) makes huge sense to me.

They can even give Stark the contract to design it, using the arc reactor to create the new flight/levitation system.

But for now, a small(ish) Triskelion for the fledgling Shield... And that the Avengers never go there except when on mission.

I'd the Helicarrier, I doubt they are going to be an established team so I think there would be not point in the tower or manison yet.

We already know it's the Helicarrier, at least for this first movie.

Can they resist crashing the Helicarrier thirty minutes after it's introduced?

Even the Avengers cartoon crashed it almost immediately.

It does things other than crash.

You can wait until Avengers 2 to crash it.

This is the Avengers! Not SHIELD. The Mansion is the only possible answer. Once it's there then the Masters of Evil can invade it and torture Jarvis. Uh... I mean give him a virus.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

I guess I'm alone with this, but I want the team to live in Tony's mansion in Malibu. I want a scene with them camped out on this ginormous sofa, just shooting the breeze. XD

I would prefer it start out as the Triskelion, I think this is likely because the super hero interaction with shield is far more similar to the Ultimate comics. That being said I don't think it will be a live in base, at least not for everyone. I do think they will eventually move into the mansion or tower in later films, probably due to a falling out with shield similar to the end of Ultimates 2.

The helicarrier is in the movie for sure.

As to whether or not it's Avengers "headquarters"...I dunno, them having a headquarters at all seems kinda...stupid. They all live separate lives and their own thing most of the time, it's not like they're firefighters hanging around the station house until they get an alarm. Them being hailed and meeting on the helicarrier to prep for a mission sounds the most likely.

I would say, start them off with something fairly impersonal. Like a military base. Then have Tony Stark offer them a mansion he inherited from his father.
