I just want to know which character from the previous film became a much better character this time around in terms of his/her character storyline, development, appearance/looks, dialogue, power usage, cool factor, etc..

For me it's a tie between Doom and Richards. The things that they lack from the 1st film, they got the 2nd time around. Reed is more confident and effective now as a leader, Doom is more sinister and less campy now.

Wow, thats a hard question for me.......I think it goes in this order

Doom
Reed
Sue
Johnny
Alicia
Ben

Doom is no where near where I think he should be, but he was IMO, the most improved AS A VILLAIN, not as Doom....

Reed is the most improved in characterization, and almost equaled with Sue....and the rest follow....

I loved that Johnny is no longer a one-dimensional, one-line guy.....that was very enjoyable to watch....

Good thread.....

Reed and Johnny for sure.

Doom was better but they could've done more.

Obviously the Torch since he stepped up and showed his true potentials.

In the first one it was about Things story

And this time they tried fitting in Sues Reeds and Johnnys storys

because they didnt know if they would have another chance to help
develop in the future.

Reed with Johhny in a close second. He seemed more like the genius he's supposed to be in this movie.

1) Doom. Infinitely superior in every respect. Still not a deep enough voice and no accent, but he seems more like DOOM in every other way. Much more threatening, fewer one-liners, smarter.

2) Johnny. In the first movie, he's funny, but he's 100% ass with no redeeming qualities. He never really does anything that doesn't seem like just another glory-hound moment. In this one, we finally see him display some depth, and he becomes likable.

I think they all showed more depth and were much more likable, well all except Doom...:cwink:

Most Improved: Dr. Doom

Best Character: The Human Torch

Most improved was reed for me. He really stepped into his leadership role a lot more and also he seemed more intelligent than in the first one.

Next it would have to be Doom, more calculating and more ruthless than previously.

Reed was most improved though I would have like to have seen the development into the more leader oriented Mr. Fantastic since the first movie barely touched on it.

Johnny improved so much in this movie. I like him so much now. He is now REALLY Johnny Storm.

And, secondly, we finally have Reed Richards, the way the should be. He improved so much too.

I loved how they made them in this movie. Awesome!

I'd say:

Most improved: Reed
Most developed during the course of the film: Johnny.

Easy decision for me.

Pretty much everybody was done better this time. But Mr. Fantastic and Doom were really awesome.

Reed and Doom were most improved. Johnny was developed the best...

All of them. But Johnny's improvement stood out the most.

Reed and Ben were a close second.

Doom was improved but not nearly to level where he should be.

Reed Richards. I enjoyed his precense and felt like he was a real leader.

I don't think johnny's character was improved, he was just highlighted more but i feel he was consistent with the johnny from the original film.

ben was left in teh background in this one

sue i felt got more proper lines and dialogue

reed was researching but was no where near as geeky intellectual as he could have been

doom was more menacing but still far too relaxed and laid back. Didn't really show any arrogance in his role with is synonymous with doom.

meh, i'd say alicia, she didn't just have a cameo in this one but played an important part of johnny realising he needed to be with someone and how isolated he'd feel if the group did split up.

small part but important and beautifully played.

I think Kerry Washington really did capture the essence of Alicia this time around from the actual comics, regardless of the race difference. She acted exactly as she has for years, regarding Johnny, Ben and basically just being a sweet individual.

I think they all improved well esspecially Mr fantastic I think they could have made him come across a little bit smarter though.

I agree with most that you said....

but in regards to Reed......most that enjoy Reed in the comics, have grown up with him, and therefore feel they know him very well......its a fine line to walk in the movie, because you have an audience that may not endear themselves to his full character in the movie, so they have written him, I guess you could say, alittle more user friendly.....simply to make him a more likable character and I think Payne did a good job with that.....

Reed and Johnny, for me.

Reed, Doom, and Johnny in that order for me.
