Which DC villian would be the best stand alone film?

Which villians would work in a stand alone film, either about the origins of the character or just about the character.

My two would be:
1. The Joker
2. Parallax

Well, the Joker already had his. A film all about Parallax would be neat. And they're doing a Magneto spinoff film, but I'm not sure how that's gonna turn out...

Something like the Suicise Squad where bad guys are used by the gov't as good guys type a thing would work.

To make a movie like that I think you somehow should be made to root for the guy. I don't see that happening with Joker or Darkseid.

Lex Luthor on the other hand could fit the bill if they made it kinda like the Man of Steel mini. He's the smartest and richest man on earth and he wants the human race to achieve things by themselves and not always be rescued and get help from some alien with superpowers who could take over the world whenever he wanted.

He's not really that evil when you see it that way and it's easy to understand his position. He does tend to go for crazy plans involving killing alot of people most of the time, but still he has a point.

You don't necesairily have to root for the main character. And, if the movie is well written, the main character could be the most ****ed up psycho in the world, and you'd be rooting for him. It all depends.

So far, DC has done only two ongoing books with a villain as the title character: Joker and Deathstroke.

Joker wouldn't work; he's already been done.

Deathstroke might. Imagine if the government had tried to create Captain America during the Vietnam War... only they somewhat botched it, and then discarded him after the war was over like a used tissue, to try to make his way in the world as a mercenary and professional hitman. Even his wife tried to kill him.

braniac could be a good sci-fi thriller, likes aliens or something

luthor would only be good if it was like the man of steel mini, that thing was so good
