I am too tired for descriptions, so I'll just list preferences for now and maybe edit in reasons later:

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?
Norton

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?
Hmmm...close, but I'd say Hurt. I was just able to hate him a little more.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?
No contest, Connelly

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?
The Abomination

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?
Ferrigno. The 2003 had a bad voice, and I am glad he hardly spoke.

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?
Sterns. Just for the enthusiasm the characters had.

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?
As far as Hulk goes, Leterrier, though Lee is the better director.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?
2003 cameo.

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?
2008. More prominent.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?
Elfman. The score for 2003 Hulk is very good.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?
Umm...don't know. Don't do figures anymore.

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?
Haven't played the 2008 game, and the 2003 sucked.

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?
The Lonely Man Theme

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?
This is hard cause TIH doesn't feel like an origin story, while the 2003 had to be treated that way. I say a push (or tie).

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?
2008, since the growing made Hulk look a little off, but I thought both movies made the Hulk look good.

-overall, which movie
The Incredible Hulk

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?
Bana. He nailed all the elements of that character - the emotional repression, the mild social awkwardness, the paranoia, the fear, the rage - and his "Hulk-outs" were truly intense. Norton is a very good actor (on the whole, probably better than Bana), but he didn't seem too invested in this role. For the most part he felt like he was just phoning it in (not to say he was overtly or dramatically bad though, it just wasn't his "A-game").
-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?
These guys are both two of my very favorite currently working actors (moreso Hurt), but only one of them fit this role like a glove. Sam Elliott by a mustachioed-Texas-mile.
-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?
I can't envision a scenario in which Liv Tyler even comes close to winning a face-off like this. Unless the question is, "Who is more closely related to Steven Tyler?" Even then though, it's probably close.
-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?
This is a tough one. The Abomination is a cool character as far as a mirror/foil for the Hulk isoncerned, and there's a lot of potential for some serious destructive fun with these two characters. In the film though, he was pretty much an undeveloped cliche, and, despite Tim Roth's presence (who is a fine actor), the performance could have been given by anyone. Furthermore, the action involving the monster, the Abomination, was fairly flat and unimaginative. They could have done much, much more. David Banner's Absorbing Man (or "Partaking Man", according to Ang Lee :woot:), on the other hand, was a very well integrated and fleshed-out character, and Nolte's performance was just the right kind of unbridaled, manic energy and supervillainous-scenery-chewing. But the final confrontation, while working very well subtextually and thematically (and in just about every other respect for me personally), may not have possessed the gamma-powered adrenaline kick that many people wanted or expected.
-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?
Toss up. My favorite vocalization from TIH was the final roar he let out as he was strangling the Abomination - and that probably wasn't Lou (though "Hulk smash!" was fun too). And I really liked the "Take it all!" line from '03. Very powerful.
-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?
Talbot. Josh Lucas is a good actor, and he was a real ******* in Hulk. Tim Blake Nelson can be pretty good occasionally, and Sterns' manic energy was kind of fun, but it was also kind of grating. It would be interesting to see where he took the Leader though (assuming the writing was up to snuff - probably his biggest hurdle).
-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?
Ang Lee is simply a much, much better director.
-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?
The cameos were alright in both films (Lee's especially), but I felt, overall, it was handled better in '03. Lou's a good guy, but it was a bit much in TIH. I did like the decision to use him as the basis for the Hulk's voice though.
-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?
Elfman, by a significant margin. I don't remember a single note of Armstrong's score, despite how overbearing and unreasonably bombastic it was at times in the film.
-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?
No idea. But 2003. :o
-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?
No idea.
-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?
"Lonely Man".
-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?
2003.
-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?
2003. Better design, better execution, better "performance". But it's not a blowout. 2008 Hulk had some nice moments.
-overall, which movie
Hulk, landslide. I prefer films with genuine vision, and for competent directors to actually be respectful of the source material they're adapting. The fewer comic-book films that take their cues from TIH, the better off the genre will be.

I prefered everything in TIH over the '03 Hulk....

Eric Bana
Sam Elliot
Jennifer Connelly
The Abomination
Lou Ferrigno voice, but I loved "Puny human" from '03 Hulk
Glenn Talbot
Ang Lee
Stan Lee's cameo in the 2008 movie
Lou Ferrigno's 2008 security guard
Craig Armstrong
the action figures based on the 2003 film
2008 videogame
"The Lonely Man Theme"
the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2008 film
Elements of CGI from both films

Torn between the two, 2003 had the better cast, 2008 had better pacing. 2003 is a monster movie, 2008 is a comic book movie.

To be fair, Hulk was the first time I ever saw Bana so he just became Banner for me. I already knew Ed Norton so the illusion was diminished.

Edward Norton

William Hurt

Liv Tyler

The Abomination

Lou Ferrigno

Samuel Sterns

Louis Leterrier

Stan Lee's cameo 2008

Lou Ferrigno's 2008 security guard

Danny Elfman

2003 action figures

2008 videogame

"The Lonely Man Theme"

the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film

the CGI Hulk in the 2003, BUT 2008 would've been better had they been given proper time and not gotten rushed. Still looked awesome and didn't take away from my viewing experience

overall, 2008 easily

2008 Film

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

2008 CGI, if only slightly

-overall, which movie

I still like Ang Lee's 2003 effort, but admittedly it's a tight race. TIH will probably have alot more replay value with me, but again, theres alot I liked about Ang Lee's HULK as well.

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?

Norton (though I think Bana is a great actor he was just physically wrong for the part)

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?

Elliot. Hurt is the visually better match, but I preferred Elliot's performance/character.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?

Jennifer Connelly. Liv Tyler is beautiful, but she's a decent actress at best.

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?

Abomination... probably.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?

Both worked for the moments they were made for.

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?

Glenn Talbot. Sam Sterns was in there for a really short while, and sort of annoyed me.[

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?

Ang Lee.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?

2008 cameo.

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?

Don't care.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?

Danny Elfman.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?

Don't know, don't care.

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?

Don't know, don't care.

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?

Lonely Man Theme. Though I sort of missed some kind of cheap generic rock song playing over the end credits. ;)

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?

2003.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

Give your selections for each and maybe a brief description why. This is all just personal preference.

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?

Norton.

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?

Either one is fine, although I like Hurt's Gen. Ross more.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?

I like Tyler's Betty more, but if I can pick one I'd pick Connelly due to her looks and acting ability.

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?

No contest, Abomination.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?

Lou, of course.

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?

I think Sterns served greater purpose, so I pick Sterns.

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?

I like Ang Lee's other movies, but not Hulk. I think LL did better job with TIH so I pick him.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?

2008 version.

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?

2008 security guard.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?

I guess Elfman.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?

2008.

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?

Didn't play either one.

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?

Lonely Man.
-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?

2008.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

2008.

-overall, which movie

TIH.

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?
Norton. Bana isn't a bad actor, but he was miscast IMO. Norton IS Bruce.

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?
Elliot. Same story as above. He gave the best performance of the '03 film.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?
Connelly, for again, the same reason as those above. I normally don't like Liv, although I admit, she wasn't that bad in TIH...but Connelly can act circles around her any day......plus I'm in love with her. :woot:

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?
This really depends on the film. One couldn't function properly in the other film. They were both best suited for their respective films.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?
Lou

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?
Talbot. He was grade "A" a-hole...and Sterns got on my nerves.

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?
Ang. Leterrier is fun for action, but Ang Lee is a TRUE film maker.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?
'03 cameo was unexpected and hilarious. The juxtaposition of he and Lou being security was great.

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?
'08 cameo was fun, but teaming him with Stan in '03 was brilliant.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?
Elfman, no contest whatsoever. I remember Armstrong's score pulsing throughout, but I couldn't recognize one note if I had to. Elfman's score is etched into my brain.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?
Both are crappy! I never bought any of either, but I did like the giant rotocast Hulks from 2003 though.

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?
Didn't play them.

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?
Lonely man beats the purlpe pants off of that Set me free garbage. My only issue is we barely heard it.

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?
'03 without a doubt. The '08 re-origin is my only complaint on TIH...but it's a big one.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?
I have been laboring over this since I saw TIH. I think both are great. TIH had so much more detail..but '03 looked more lifelike. At times the '08 Hulk looked akward. 03' had moments of sketchy CGI too, but overall it was good and his stucture was perfect. I think in the end, I have to go with '03.

-overall, which movie
I have a really hard time with this so that says something. If a gun were put to my head, I may have to go with TIH, because though less innovative and memorable, it is a less flawed film.
If I were to compare the two to a dining experience I would say this.
Hulk is like going to an unfamiliar resturaunt, ordering a meal and discovering "wow! This item taste remarkable and has ingredients my taste buds have never experienced...while the side dish was just YUCK."
TIH on the other hand is like a decent hamburger. Nothing to write home about, but it was reliably satisfying and got the job done.

..............I'm hungry. :woot:

That is why I always eat the main course after the side dishes :woot:

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?
Norton. Bana did a great job, just thought Norton was better in the acting department

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?
Hulk was good but I think Elliot just squeezes by.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?
Liv, I really thought she did a better job on conveying that she loved Banner

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?
-Sorry, but that confusing mess of a villain was not the Absorbing Man. Abomination easily.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?
Lou, just for old times sake

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?
Sterns, bring on the Leader!

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?
Louis easily. Hulk was an Ang Lee movie with the Hulk in it. TIH was an Incredible Hulk movie directed by Louis. Big difference.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?
2008

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?
2008, more of a scene

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?
Danny but TIH did have some good music in it.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?
Eh, they are both just middle of the road.

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?
2008

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?
Lonely Man easily

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?
2008. The long, long, long, long, long start of the Hulk movie was part of the problem.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?
2008, it really grew on me.

-overall, which movie
TIH, easily. More of a represenation of a Hulk comic book on the big screen.

Norton
Hurt
Connelly
Abomination

Let's get to the knitty gritty.
I am blantently stealing this post from someone by the name of The Sphinx on another Hulk board (hey, I credited him!).
Give your selections for each and maybe a brief description why. This is all just personal preference.

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?
Edward

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?
Oh...well I got to say. Sam was more aggresive. I liked hating him more as the villain.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?
Hell yes, Liv Tyler. Jennifer Connely is NOTHING like Betty Ross. She's boring and serious.

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?
Abomination! Absorbing Man? Uglah! Nick Nolite, Bruce's father? No. Yuck.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?
Yeah. Lou Ferrigno! HULK SMASH! I love his angry voice.

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?
Those two are complety different! I would say Glenn Talbot or Emil Blonsky

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?
Louis Leterrier of course. F*** Ang Lee's Hulk movie.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?
Oh...well for this one....I'd had to say the 2003 film. He dies in the 2008 Hulk! WTF?

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?
2008. He gets some lines dammit! Much better.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?
Neither. But The 2008 film is a better movie. Danny is a great composer, but his music doesn't sound right for a super hero Hulk movie. It's mor elike creppy, scientific, and mysterious. Not superhero.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?
Okay...on this one. The 2003 Hulk toys were so much better looking. The news ones don't even look like how the Hulk looks like in the film!

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?
I haven't played any of them yet, but I heard in the 2008 game, you also have free play around the city, so I say this one.

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?
Well...I like both. But these two don't compare.

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?
Not really sure. 2008 film is better. The credits aren't that great though.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?
Well, as we know it, the ne whulk movie's CGI for The Hulk isn't as good as Ang Lee's Hulk CGI. 200 SGI was definetly better.

-overall, which movie
The Incredible Hulk! Duh!

Let's get to the knitty gritty.
I am blantently stealing this post from someone by the name of The Sphinx on another Hulk board (hey, I credited him!).
Give your selections for each and maybe a brief description why. This is all just personal preference.

Here we go:

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?

Norton is the better actor, but wasnt at his best in TIH, he is a better fit for Bruce Banner as well, but Bana was also very good in the '03 movie. Probably Norton overall.

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?

Sam Elliot

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?

Connelly, though i do think people are FAR too harsh on Tyler's performance in TIH, she was very good as well IMO.

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?

Hhhhmmm, difficult to say, both fit their respective movies perfectly, so its a tie for me, though if Abom had had his comic book design, i probably would have picked him.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?

Loved both to be honest

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?

Talbot, thought he was a great character in the '03 movie, though Sterns was good as well.

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?

Ang is obviously the better director, but to be honest, Hulk is the only one of his movies i have ever truly loved and enjoyed, were as LL i have enjoyed a few of his movies.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?

Liked both.

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?

Liked both, but the '08 one was slightly more enjoyable.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?

Elfman, but Armstrong deserves credit for his score also, which was very good, just not as good as Elfman's IMO.

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?

Didnt see or buy either

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?

Never played either

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?

Didnt think much of either, was never a fan of the Hulk T.V series, and didnt think much of Set Me Free either.

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?

'03, definately.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

Both were good, neither ever took me out of either movie, but comparatively and considering the time gap, i thought the CGI in 03 was better. And i liked both designs.

-overall, which movie

Ang Lee's Hulk, by quite a bit, but i loved TIH as well.

Everything in Hulk 08. I dug Elfman's score, except the dessert music, but I'll just go for TIH by a landslide because I like my movies too be atleast decently acted and written and fairly entertaining. JMHO.

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?

Norton (just because of his size; Bana at 6'4" did not look weak)

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?

Hurt - because of the material

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?

Connelly/Tyler - no preference here

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?

Abomination

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?

2003 Hulk

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?

Sterns

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?

Tough one but I will go with Leterrier because the movie was consisitent even though it was not excellent whereas Ang's tried to mix several genres which left a bad taste in many people's mouths.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?

2003

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?

2008

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?

Not sure

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?

not sure

the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?

not sure

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?

LMT

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?

2008 - did not like the origin too much but I thought it was shown concisly getting it out of the way

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

That is a good question; I thought the 2003 version was more impressive but I preferred the 2008's looks and atitude.

-overall, which movie

I will go with the 2008 version eventhough I felt it could have been considerably better. The 2003 movie had an incredible action sequence (the desert, jumping and then the city) which was not matched here but it was too much of a mix of genres.

I bolded my choices.

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton?

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot?

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler?

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man?

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk?

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns?

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier?

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie?

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard?

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman?

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film?

Don't care

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame?

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"?

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film?

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

-overall, which movie

The Incredible Hulk

-Eric Bana or Edward Norton? Ed Norton, better actor and better suited to be Bruce Banner than Bana.

-William Hurt or Sam Elliot? I liked them both, but i like Sam Elliot performance slightly better.

-Jennifer Connelly or Liv Tyler? Jennifer Connelly. I really couldn't buy her as a scientist.

-The Abomination or The Absorbing Man? The Abomination was the better villain.

-Lou Ferrigno or whoever voiced the 2003 Hulk? Lou Ferrigno.

-Glenn Talbot or Samuel Sterns? Sterns.

-Ang Lee or Louis Leterrier? Louis Leterrier. although, i appreciate what Ang Lee try to do with Hulk, but it was such a bore and uninteresting. Louis Leterrer just made a entertaining movie.

-Stan Lee's cameo in the 2003 movie or his cameo in the 2008 movie? 2003. i didn't like seeing Stan Lee falling down.

-Lou Ferrigno's 2003 security guard or 2008 security guard? Lou's cameo in 2008 movie.

-Craig Armstrong or Danny Elfman? Elfman

-the action figures based on the 2003 film or the ones based on the 2008 film? don't know, don't collect action figures.

-the 2003 videogame or the 2008 videogame? don't know, don't play video games all that much.

-"Set Me Free" or "The Lonely Man Theme"? Lonely Man Theme. Nostalgia for the Hulk tv series

-the exposition given in flashbacks in the 2003 film or the exposition given in the opening credits in the 2008 film? i guess the flashbacks in 2003.

-the CGI Hulk in the 2003 movie or the one in the 2008 movie?

Pretty much all what you said, expect I was ok with Talbot and I still hold Ang's Hulk as a little better movie than TIH, being TIH very good.
