Which Video Game World Would You Live In?

Video games give us some of the most awesome worlds in fiction. As great as they are though, most don't seem particularly liveable. Life in any Grand Theft Auto city would be jam packed with the daily threat of gun fights, explosions or worse. Try a walk through the wilderness in Skyrim and your day would soon be ruined by a giant spider or something bigger. Take a leisurely night stroll in Hyrule and the skeletons will have you for breakfast. Of course none of this matters if you're a bad ass, but most of us don't wander the streets with a broad sword or a flamethrower.

For the sake of fun I beg the question; If you had to live in a video game world, which would it be?

I should also ask, why?

I think I'd go for maybe the Minecraft universe, off the top of my head. Reason being, it's certainly not without it's dangers but I'd be able to build anything I need to protect myself within the first 12 hours and continually expand on it.

Squirrel, I thought the ME universe would probably pop-up pretty quick. It's definitely a wicked place, but doesn't it seem overly dangerous? I guess there are (seemingly) safe and idyllic colonies like Eden Prime used to be but even so, even the Citadel isn't without it's crime rings and regular murders. That's saying nothing of the various wars, terrorism and anti-human sentiment.

The Kingdom of Alefgard in the original Dragon Warrior (quest) trilogy. I'm just really big into sword and sorcery and... who doesn't want to live in a world where the plains have wild slimes running about!?

Probably the Pokemon universe. They have advanced technology, and it seems like a completely peaceful place outside of Pokemon fights where even the Pokemon themselves are rarely injured.

IF I were to live in the Mass Effect universe... I'd want to live before or after Mass Effect 3. My god is that war terrifying. I'll just stand by my world... where people try to take over... but don't commit mass genocide.

Oh no, you guys pick whatever world(s) you like!

I'm just interested in why you'd pick somewhere dangerous like the ME universe as opposed to somewhere safer. Marcvader there likes The Capital Wasteland from Fallout 3, which by all accounts is a pretty terrible place to live.

I chose Minecraft because it would be comparatively easy to survive there. If I lived in Skyrim for example, I'm pretty sure I'd be dead within a few minutes of leaving the safety of town. If I were a bad ass swordsman and maybe knew a few magic tricks I might pick somewhere more adventurous, but alas I'm 132 pounds and any skills I have certainly won't help me in combat.

For my money Cherokeesam has the best idea so far!

I was actually messing around, the Fallout 3 world would be pretty horrific. But seriously, I wouldn't mind being a gunfighter in Red Dead Redemption or going old school being an adventurer in Baldur's Gate.

Skyrim would be my choice. Such a gorgeous place, but it also depends on my role in that world. Day to day life, id probably choose somewhere safe, but if I'm an adventurer like the Dovhakiin, then Skyrim for sure.


Id also love to live in the world of Red Dead Redemption. Love to walk around with a Six Shooter on my hip.

But in all likelyhood, as much as we wish that we'd be some badass lone wanderer, we'd probably be nothing more than water beggars in that world..hehe
