Both Marvel or DC characters included. I'm not a big X-Men follower but from what I gather, he's one of comic books' most difficult oponents to beat. I'm not talking about beating as in ruining plans and schemes only, I mean beating as in "You got knocked the **** out!".

Feel free to mention teams (including rosters) but I really rather hear individuals.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, Doom seems like a serious contender. I assume he and Mags have duked it out. If so, what happened or how do you think Doom would do it?

If I'm not mistaken he is currently a de-powered old man, so I'm gonna say just about anyone.

I've always wondered whether magneto's control was over magnetism and all metals or was it simply the magnetic ones?

He recently got repowered by The Collective, and I miss the powerless Jewish old man.

Yup. Doom completely owned Magneto in that issue. :word:

Thor defeated Magneto as well, iirc, back in his Journey Into Mystery days....

I also seem to remember Iron Man defeating Mags in an issue of West Coast Avengers...think Tony had non-ferrous armor, or something.

Thanks Cap! I'll have to look for those in Essential tpb's! Has anybody defeated him over the last decade or two though? Let's say since the 90's X-Men title? I know Charles Xavier scrambled his brain around that time. Any others?

Not sure. I know he's become very, VERY powerful over the last several years.

I wonder if Graviton could beat him...?

Phhh...Megatron would own him.

Exactly! That's why I'm wondering who'd take him. Graviton's a good one too!

If they used their powers to full potential, then I guess any of the omega level mutants could.

Thor, Prof. Xavier, Dr. Strange, Apocalypse, Onslaught, Doom, Phoenix, Surfer, Thanos and every other cosmic being. On the DC side: Supes, Green Lantern(Hal Jordan), Darkseid. I know there are more but I am not as familiar with DC as Marvel.

Full potential? Certain omega level mutants blink the wrong way and galaxies vanish. I think almost ANY omega level mutant could take on Magneto. I'm positive that Phoenix (if she were alive at the moment, but she'll be back, she always comes back) could do it, Franklin richards could do it if he still had his powers, if iceman could freeze him fast enough maybe... hmmm...probably a few i missed, but omegas could defiently do it...finding anybody lower then an alpha would be difficult...Rogue if she had the mental capacity?

Monica Rambeau (Photon/Captain Marvel) took him out quite easily once. She should be able to do it again -- faster than he could react, actually.

I also agree with ssj wolverine's list, except for Prof. X and Apocalypse: Xavier cannot easily defeat Magneto when he has his defences up, and Mags only needs a moment to beat Chuck unconscious with his own wheelchair. And AoA Apocalypse was killed by Magneto who had lost half of his power. At full power, Magnus would OWN Apoc.

I thought about that, but I forgot if he did or didn't get his powers back.

He can control the entire electromagnetic spectrum and all metals, including adamantium. So I've often wondered why Ultron hasn't tried to kill him--y'know, as a precautionary measure.
