Homecoming Who do you want to cast as Mary Jane Watson

Ummm... but he does:

Let's not even get into the factual innacuracy of the above statement, but he's clearly trying to cast MJ in a negative light.

I could go on.

Either way it doesn't really matter. People are entitled to their own opinions and preferences. However, the inaccuracy and misinterpretation of both characters is just obnoxious.

Oh gawd, you're not getting it. Whatever his preferences may be, the fact that he prefer Gwen over MJ has nothing do with MJ getting cut from the second movie when the reason was already explained. This seems just frustration coming from you, you didn't get to see your favorite or second favorite character.. Again.

MJ didn't fall in love with Peter Parker at first, that's just plains obvious. He was just a cool guy that she had fun with, for a certain time. His statement is correct.

What about the two last quotes? He explained why he's choosing Gwen. So?

No, it's not. He seems to be confusing MJ with silver age Lois Lane. Mary Jane wasn't after Spider-Man.

No. He didn't say "Gwen fell in love with Peter Parker before MJ did". He didn't even say "MJ was initially only after Spider-man" (which would still be wrong. The only woman that at any point in time was "after Spider-man" was Felicia Hardy, and even that changed.) It says "MJ was always more after Spider-man" which is a complete misinterpretation of the character and her relationship with Peter, meant to disparage her. The frustration is a response to this misinterpretation coming from the man who is/was (supposedly) helming the franchise.

What about the two last quotes? He explained why he's choosing Gwen. So?

You said that he has wanted to use MJ since TASM1. Clearly, he hasn't.

In other news, apparently Shailene Woodley is a big fan of Marvel Studios. :funny:

I always liked how it was explained in, spider-man blue...

it's kinda to bad they didn't introduce her earlier in the movies for her Gwen and Peter to all have known each other

Another example of mishandling the current film series.

That's actually pretty awesome what she said about Marvel, and quickly added Fox, too. Notice which studio currently making superhero films she didn't mention...:woot:

I wasn't all for seeing MJ in TASM2 but she (Shailene) seems to be doing really well for herself right now so I'm quite glad that she was cut out of TASM2 for her own sake (and I'm sure she's quite glad too after the film's poor reception).

Yes, she actually dodge a bullet there.

Having MJ in TASM2 would have been great, just to plant the seeds of her and Peter's relationship.

What's done is done, however, and her character can still work well, though it would have been better had we seen their relationship develop before Gwen's death. The same could be said, that it would have been beneficial hearing about Harry in TASM1 before he reappears in the sequel.

I'd still keep Shailene; she's a great actress and could fill Stone's shoes.

At this point,I don't even want Shailene as MJ.

Wait a few years for Marvel to get the rights back and then make her MJ.

And wait til she stops looking so much like Garfield's sister :o

You know what could be funny?
To have a new comer actress under the screenname Mary Jane play the role.

At this point fancasting an actress for MJ is pointless to me, I mean come on! the movie comes out 2018!

I'm pretty sure that by then, (heck, even sooner, before part 3 comes out) we will have yet another new girl on these boards that would make everyone drool obsessively and for sure they would only see that one for the role of MJ! :hubba:hubba:hubba: ! :D

In my opinion MJ in ASM2 would take away from the Gwen/Peter romance.

I'd like to see Lyndsy Fonseca in the role.

I'd like to see Elizabeth Lail as MJ tbh. She's a newcomer but her role in Once Upon A Time proves she has a lot of talent. Plus she looks a lot like MJ to me!:

I was thinking the same thing while watching it. I actually think the guy who plays kristoff , her fiancee ,would make a pretty good Peter Parker as well. The guys got the personality and kinda reminds me of the 90s animated version visually.

Now that you mentioned him, doesn't he look a lot like Eddie Brock? He'd be a great pick for that role imo
