Homecoming Who do you want to cast as Mary Jane Watson

Even with long hair, she's nothing "amazing" :o

Please, that picture was her on the way to set - she didn't have any make up on.

Shailene for MJ.

She's got a nice body, you can't deny that, Palpatine.

It's like they're mocking us with that "White bird in a blizzard" trailer!!
Like they're saying: "Look at what your Mary Jane could've looked like"
Just look at all the similarities!! All those iconic poses/pictures! It's insane!!

That can't solely be coincidence
How come no one noticed this before? :)
Watch the trailer for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D1W_aH72-g

she is no better than our current possibilities for MJ

Not a fan of Shailene as MJ. Not in this disappointing series or the next.

I like it when studios go with relatively unknowns instead of the "it" actors and actresses. That tends to usually bite you in the butt when their contract runs out. They always want to leave to do more independent, low budget films since they're "artists."

I agree, she's gotten too "it" now

but, I think they were on the right track with her casting, since she went from being relatively unknown to "it girl" between the time she was cast the time the movie came out...

so, if they can find another raising star thats right on the verge of becoming "it", an actually get her in the movie, before she becomes too "it"(lock her in to contract while she's still cheap lol) then take credit when she does become the "it girl" saying that you cast her before she was big

I think it's called hipster casting ? lol

Usually the unknowns you like become the "it" because you like them and word of mouth spreads. Nobody remains unknown permanently.

She's in Jurassic World ya fool! :argh:

:p

I think my care-0-meter just exploded! :D

You know, if they had taken out Electro (especially since he most likely has no future in the series), they could have found a way to add Woodley in TASM2.
And Harry... and Aunt May.... and Spider-Man himself, it could have been a S. Woodley movie!

Can't say I'm a fan of her as MJ either, but in the end you never know how it is until it actually happens. However, it's hardly ever than fans'choice since I see many want her in the role, but regardless, I care so little about this franchise at this point that it's all the same to me who plays any character. They might as well choose Bieber for Doc Ock.

Splendid.

Then the MJ spinoff could crossover with May's, when Mary Jane shows up at the Parker residence and drops the jackpot line.

:whatever:

Wtf, she looks just fine in the pic.

In that, she looks...

I ain't no makeup artist person but she looks better without her hair in a pony tail. Then we have....

She no doubt looks much better and more MJ like like this.

She looks fine. It's just bad angles in those set pictures.

She does look nice there.

I didn't like her all that much before, but I definitely became a supporter after watching a couple movies of her over the summer.

Emma Watson for MJ. That way he's had both Emmas.

EMMAgerdddddddd! #MindBlown

Because Webb ships Peter and Gwen, and Avi Arad thought the film was "too big for two girls".

"Web ships Peter and Gwen", he sure does :

It wasn't because of that , Marc himself said that he wants MJ on the franchise since the first movie. In the end, the movie didn't needed MJ and it could take away the impact of Gwen's death for audience.

Lol, I just.... :funny:

Yea because the montage of seeing Peter dealing with Gwen's death instead of feeling Peter deal with Gwen's death along with Harry planning to from a team to attack Peter (seriously Harry planning a team to attack Peter when he's already quit being Spidey and is too ****ing depressed is dumb. You broke him now let him suffer) and bringing in Rhino really added to the impact of Gwen's death for the audience.

We actually don't know why Harry is putting the S6 together.

It could be for charity for all we know.

It sure didn't :whatever: First, the movie should have ended after her death because it's the best way and what everyone wanted. I know you don't care about it, but you're not everyone. I managed to get out of the theater smiling with that ending and I got ****ing depressed with her death. So yeah, they made the right decision.

Oh, tell me, what are S6 real plans because you apparently have an Insider at Sony who is working with the spin off. Nobody besides haters wants to watch a Spider-Man movie with a ending where sadness is all over the screen.

Let's not forget that you watched her death before even watching the movie.

In the comics, Gwen fell for Peter Parker, and Mary Jane was always more after Spider-Man.
Let's not even get into the factual innacuracy of the above statement, but he's clearly trying to cast MJ in a negative light.

Why did you feel Gwen Stacy was the way to go as opposed to Mary Jane?

We’ve seen Mary Jane. I also think that Gwen Stacy is a young scientifically minded woman who’s super smart, maybe even a little bit smarter than Peter at times. I like that dynamic, that there was a rivalry between the two of them in some way...

Sure, there’s this damsel in distress trope that is very convenient when you have a male protagonist. It’s an easy narrative tool. But I think that something that happens in Spider-Man is that there are a lot of powerful, strong women. Whether it’s Aunt May or Gwen Stacy. That’s one of the things I really liked about Gwen Stacy. One of the great things about Emma Stone is that she is incredibly smart and very confident. Another thing about Gwen Stacy is that she’s a scientist...
I could go on.

Either way it doesn't really matter. People are entitled to their own opinions and preferences. However, the inaccuracy and misinterpretation of both characters is just obnoxious.
