I'd definitly like to see these guys brought into the next Batman film. It'd be different, and wouldn't be straying too far from the realism aspect. Thoughts?

so long as scarface isn't alive. I think robin williams would be perfect as the ventriloquist. he can play very quite creepy guys like one hour photo, and can make different voices. the only thing is that not everyone would understand. people see the trailer with a dude holding a puppet with a tommy gun and think, oh man this looks stupid. But i think it could work. Personally i would like to see black mask more because hes not campy in anyway and could be a very awesome badass!:oldrazz:

I actually do. It would be a breath of fresh air villain wise, even if in minor role (especially if we get Riddler and Catwoman or something, having someone new in the mix might be good). It could show how the freaks have taken over the mob scene as well. Im not as familiar with this character as others, and im sure the general audience isnt....so it would give Nolan wiggle room to tweek things.

I think it would be great to see a crazy old man trying to bark orders to his employers and soliders, but must rely on his vicious side displayed through the Scarface doll. He doesnt necessarily have have a tommy gun or whatnot...just be a figure head like Falcone or Maroni...have him in the same kinda role they did. Whether or not the actor could do it is another thing...but im sure some training and clever technique from the director might make it more easier for the actor and whoever does the voice, if that's the case.

And im with the general consensus over time that Bill Murray I think would be the ideal candidate. Sure he's known for his comedy...but I think, like Robin Williams (who I wouldnt mind either)...he can switch on that dark side very easily. Steve Martin I can see as well (if anyone has seen The Spanish Prisoner where he plays a hit-con man, you'll know what I mean).

But im sticking with Bill Murray for The Ventriloquist

I want Arnold Wesker to just be there, deadpan and matter of factly with no explanation or context, and his goons are just as weirded out as we are. When Batman kicks his arse we'll all be like "thank god".

I think Robin Willaims would be great ventriliquist. He plays a great disturbed person

I really want to see him in the next film. Not as a main character or even a side character but in a cameo role during a meeting of various mobsters.
Imagine the scene in The Dark Knight where Joker meets the mob after his bank robbery. It would be that kind of atmosphere, but amongst the bosses you'd see creepy old Mr. Wesker, sitting calmly with a wooden puppet on his knee.
It wouldn't be exapnded on or even explained but simply exist to show how the freak element of Gotham is taking hold.

Ventriloquist and Scarface

No. Its one of the worst villians in the comics in my opinion.

My picks for the Ventriloquist:

Jeffrey Tambor

or

Stephen Toblowsky

He's even got the Nolan connection (Memento).

Its one of those villains that looks campy but can be very creepy if correctly done. If it works thematically and there's an engaging story there, sure why not.

I dont think we'll ever see this character in a batman film.

Doesnt interest me much - cameo at the very most.

If they used him somehow, I think that William H. Macy would be a good choice

That Bill Murray pic looks great. I think Nolan would go for this character...like I said, it's very realistic and not much known about him, so Nolan could expand on the character and make him so creepy. I can see Murray making this memorable is a small mob boss role.

I think Ventriloquist would be pretty cool as a villain who works with some new mob in Gotham or something

A scene of Harley with them as patient(s) could be comical, can you imagine the exchanges.

you guys have it all wrong. The perfect guy for the Ventriloquist is...............................................Jeff Dunham =p ahhahaha

There are better villains out there, I would use these two in last resort.

Scarface and the Ventriloquist..? Not in these movies.

I think that the Ventriloquist is a great villain. I love the way he was done in Batman TAS. Especially the way they show that Scarface is the one with all the power.

But, the two of them are simply not menacing enough for these films. No matter how you put a spin on the character, you just cannot make a guy with a little puppet seem like a threat. I don't think it would work.
