alright down to business. i think for the sake of Nolan's "realism" take on Batman (which i'm a huge fan of) i think that the Ventriloquist should be played by a real ventriloquist. and based on pure talent i think i've found the guy who could conceivably play him. here's a video:

his name is Jeff Dunham, and he's primarily a comedian but i think that, given his talent as show here with two puppets he could very well handle the scarface puppet in a future Batman movie in the current franchise. and yes, i know that the Ventriloquist is an older guy but i think in this case we can make an exception. you gotta admit it though, the guy's got mad skills

yay or nay?

He is really talented but I don't think he could portray a creepy vent. oh well thats just my opinion.

there are a lot of comedians that have been able to cross over into dramatic--or even creepy (remember Robin Williams in One Hour Photo? Insomnia?)

Oh I know, but Robin Williams is really talented but anyway, I don't see a reason for his whole schtick if he isn't going to be funny. You could get a really good actor and fake the whole ventriloquist persona.

Paul Giamatti would be good. I would love to see him in a Batman movie in about any role.

....and this ladies and gentleman, is how the great franchise will die.

I love Jeff Dunham but there's no way I'd want to see him playing a villian in a Batman movie.

Now Paul Giamatti would be a great ventriloquist.

alright i know i sound like a broken record here, but as good as giamatti is (he's probably the best choice for the role acting-wise), just take a look at Jeff Dunham's appearance in this clip from Delta Farce. the video's a little delayed in looping but again, look at Dunham's appearance. He looks like he could pull off Arnold Wesker.

What does it matter if it's a real Venquilotrist? I'd rather just get Woody Allen and be done with it.

haha could you imagine

"so so so so scarface we havve to get out of here because the batmans coming and when he does I just I don't know he is just so scary I mean what are we going to do "

then I want jeremy Irons doing the voice of scar face

the ventriloquist is just a everyday villian and sucks anyway. Why should he be used in the first place?

because he's creepy as hell. but at the same timei know he's not a top-tier villain in Batman's rogues gallery, but i do think he could be used quite effectively in a subplot. plus the fact that there's a little MPD going on there makes for interesting character development

The ventriloquist is one of those yawn-worthy villains that, like the Penguin, would only work in a minor role as far as the movies are concerned. Personally, I hope we don't see him at all, and I doubt we will as long as Nolan is at the helm.

He's perfect for cameo role. Just another gangster for Two-Face to take down. It would be weird and memorable and would typify new Gotham so perfectly

Thinking about it that way, it might be pretty cool. It would freak out the average movie goer who didn't know about him, and the comic book fans would love it.

Yah I've said it a few times before, I'd LOVE a scene in a smokey bar room somehwere with Scarface barking orders while his goons glance sideways and shuffle their feet. That's it. The audience will just be like "WTF someone needs to smack this *****bag!"
