No both.

Team wise I feel Falcon is better, because having a eye in the sky is good for tactical purposes. He fills a important role like Hawkeye (marksman).

Black Panther is just redundant. He's just a mix of Stark, Fantastic, and Namor. Stark makes his intelligence factor obsolete. On the ground he's not like Cap. Again redundant need for his skills.

I disagree, Black Panther has another dimension that you're not looking at. Cap is a great leader but he doesnt look ahead like BP does. BP is like a grandmaster chess player. In the middle of a battle BP will vanish and show up an hour later with the main villain guy slumped on the floor unconscious. He's always thinking 50 steps forward. That ability to see the large picture and place himself in position to strike and do the most damage in one kill shot makes him invaluable. He's not a Captain he's a King. He thinks endgame all the time.

I agree, and if you're talking MCU, then Falcon is just a guy with wings and guns.

Yeah no kidding. I don't get why you're choosing between the two...

It's Earth's Mightiest Heroes, not "a team that all fits well together based on tactical need."

Black Panther, all he lacks is the ability of flight to be the most useful Avenger ever made

I agree with some of the above posters - why bother choosing?

Put them both on the team. Both could use a bit more time in the spotlight.

Dwayne McDuffie would have something funny to say about this regarding the "rule of two", as he called it. Poor guy, such a shame he passed away the way he did.

The Falcon. I prefer Black Panther being more of a loner and the types of teams he joins are the ones like the Illuminati.

Black Panther isn't redundant. He's basically what you get when you combine all of the major members of the Avengers with a tribal twist and that's more interesting then any other gimmicky, one-note character you could add to the team.

Ultimately Falcon is another yes man/sidekick which doesn't offer as much potential drama as an independent loner who challenges and sizes up other team members when he's not bailing them out of trouble.

Plus I like the fact that BP seems like a fresh of the boat foreigner from the jungle but ultimately he is a brilliant and essential member of a team filled with geniuses.

I want both. Flight is a huge plus but so is intellect.

...really though: why are we being asked to chose between these two heroes in particular...?

Oh because typically TV/Movie standards only require one token black character. I didn't invent this; its been like this for a while though. Hence the choice.

I love the idea of kids pretending to be Black Panther while playing outside.

I can't imagine many kids pretending to be Falcon.

He's like Robin to Black Panther's Batman.

Every kid wants to be Batman.

Lol. No kids like to pretend to be anything outside anymore. What year do you think this is? Lol

I'm not choosing! It's 20-freakin'-14! Falcon, Black Panther, and let's add Monica Rambeau to the roster.

But why should we enforce that in our hypothetical scenarios?

Hypothetical scenarios are for imagining if the word was less arbitrarily ******.

I don't accept the premise of the question. I say both. And I agree with WolfCypher, throw Monica in there for good measure. And also America Fererra, Josiah X, and Amadeus Cho.

That would be a baller Avengers line up.

I'm in the 'both' camp as well. I think it's silly to frame the question the way it was set up here. There's zero reason why we should ponder the acceptance of one black character versus another. Race should not be the issue.

I think both characters would enhance the effectiveness of the team by bringing in unique elements. Bring 'em both on!!!
