To be honest, I don't understand why Mary Jane needed to be "reinvented". Either do the character or don't. But this wishy washy "she's a 'reinvention' of the character, she's a homage" stuff annoys me.

Racists in the company didn't want a black MJ. That's it.

Mary Jane Watson is my favorite female Marvel character. She was attrocious in the Raimi films. She was completely cutout of TASM2. I figured if anyone could do her justice, it would be Marvel. They basically created a brand new character and slapped the MJ initials on her and called it a day.

Zendaya could have played a traditional MJ and she could have been great.

Now, who knows what the new status quo will be.

This would be a bit contrived, but I'm partial to the idea others have suggested where they could say since NWH, MJ got into into modeling and is using Mary Jane as a stage name. Say she got into to help pay for MIT lol.

As I said, its on the nose, but I figure you can use this as an opportunity to soft reboot the character considering the time jump.

Or just split the difference between what was already established in the films with her dabbling in drawing/sketching and have her become either a designer in the fashion industry or an artist that goes onto eventually start an art museum. And just say that she goes by the name Mary Jane Watson now as part of her public persona.

It builds on an aspect of her character in the films, kind of ties back into her comic origins as a bit of a socialite without completely throwing out what came before and would work as a natural evolution of the character. Would also be a good way to explain how she and Peter are able to afford the things and living that she does whenever they officially find each other and get back together again.

Had Andrew or Tobey been in BND , which is what Sony originally wanted, I could buy that she was playing Mayday , but I doubt she's playing that role .

That said, she much more likely to play Mayday than playing " The Real Mary Jane Watson" , which was rumored months back.

I think characters like Gwen Stacy, Black Cat/ Felicia Hardy and Carlie Cooper , are much more likely .

For the record, you're not in my block list. Its just annoying you keep using the "You Sure?" reaction when I already told you directly in the past, that it annoys me because by pressing that reaction button of You Sure? is like you're asking me, if I'm unsure of what I said. And I felt like I needed to defend/explain what I posted.

I also feel disrespected when you keep doing that when you know, it annoys me - which is the same thing I said to the person who I added in my blocklist whom I already asked twice in their profile page, and to this day, they are still doing it (maybe because they know its getting a reaction out of me, since ignore/block don't hide reactions from the people we already put in ignore list).

Spider-Verse movies are overrated in my opinion and I don't like the animation. I have also said, many times in the past that there should be fewer Marvel films. I really don't want any Marvel films coming out from Sony anymore.
