Who is Sadie Sink playing?

I'm becoming convinced that the rumor of her character being a disguise for whoever the main villain is true. Hopefully its a take on the Chamelion instead of Shanthra.

Is that allowed? :o

I think she's playing....

An original character.

It's possible that she's an original character like Rachel Dawes or Chase Meridian .

While an original character in the vein of Rachel Dawes hasn't been done in a while in these CBM's ,they certainly aren't unheard of .

She may even be an amalgamation of several Sony Marvel Comics owned characters like Carlie Cooper, Lily Hollister , Debra Whitman , etc .

An original character would probably be exclusive to Sony anyway , so, it's always possible that they came up with a new character for the film, while Sony keeps their powder dry in using other supporting female characters .

I still tend to think it's probably a character from the comics, but, I don't dismiss the idea that she could be a brand new character , exclusive to the new film.

If Sink's character is villainous, playing someone like Lily Hollister could be cool.

Right, I must have forgotten somehow. That rules her out, then.
To be fair she was mixed and half of the time artists drew/colored her like she was a white girl with a tan lol. They've been doing the same with the 2nd Beetle in recent comics. But even still yea I don't see them whitewashing her.

Define "original". Keep in mind this is the same Spider-Man franchise that has "Mary Jane" as Peter's love interest but not the actual character from the comics.

I got the impression he meant a character like Rachel Dawes or Chase Meridian from The Batman films or Ursa from The Raimi Spiderman films , who is created specifically for the film .

Or , on TV Felicity Smoke on Arrow , a character created for the show that , not based on a character from the comics, prior to the show's production.

That's what I thought he meant by " Original" characters.

I also think that it's possible Sadie Sink could be ,an amalgamation of a couple characters from the comics .

If that were the case, that would be closer to the Michelle Jones/ MJ example .

New set video:

A woman who appears to be Sadie’s character (this was recorded up high and away) is carried off in a stretcher into the back of a black van that has cage barred doors on the inside. She is wearing the blue jeans and coat seen previously posted.

Video:

This may be the van and firetruck:

It may all be connected to an

explosion.

In a separate video Mark Ruffalo was shown taken away into an ambulance.

I'd really prefer her to be Firestar over Jean Grey, if those are the two choices. Unless there's some other redheaded girls with powers that Spidey's friendly with in the comics. Or maybe her character doesn't have powers and she's on a gurney because she was injured?

Firestar seems more appropriate given Firestar actually interacted with Spider-Man in the comics and cartoons iirc.
