I heard awhile back that there were going to be 8 heroes in the Avengers movie. So far, I only count 7: Capt. America, Ironman, Thor, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, and possibly Nick Fury (I don't count him as a super hero). If the Skrulls are in this movie, who thinks the 8th hero will be Capt. Marvel?

Tom Hiddleston has mentioned fighting 8 heroes on more than one occasion, so I'm curious about this as well.

Unless he's counting Maria Hill or Coulson, I still think there *might* be a secret surprise cameo by someone who's *not* confirmed to be in the movie yet.

But my best bet, if there even *is* an 8th, would be on War Machine, since he's obvious.

War Machine is who I think will be the 8th hero, unless they decide to bring in Spiderman.

Spider-Man can't appear in The Avengers because his film rights are owned by Sony.

When Hiddleston said that there are eight heroes (repeatedly) I just assumed that either he counted wrong or Loki went toe-to-toe with the badass Agent Coulson. After seeing what Coulson did with only a bag of flour as a weapon I shudder to think of the carnage he'll create using SHIELD-issue plasma rifles and assorted WMDs.

There are 6 Avengers:
Iron Man
Thor
Hulk
Captain America
Black Widow
Hawkeye

Plus Nick Fury is running the show. I imagine he will be akin to Prof. X from the X-Men movies. Not a team member but the organizer and guiding force.

There is no 8th hero. Let the conspiracy theories end here...(dreads more Pym speculation)

What's badass about coulson?
He's only a cheap way to conect all the movies instead of wasting a lot of money in the stars of each movie to make a cameo.

I'm convinced it's Green Lantern.

We just had his movie.

:awesome:
kidding obviously.

The wrongest thing I've ever read on a forum, ever***

I believe Avengers 2 should be about The Living Tribunal coming to destroy the world because of our capacity for evil. The son of Coul shows him drive thu fast food, 50' flat screens, free mp3 downloads and beer.

Having been convinced, The Living Tribunal starts to leave, but Coulson whips out his flour and donuts and and lays down the smack, to teach him he can't just roll over, threaten our existence and get away without a hiding.***

**slight exaggerations

Nope, and i'm not the first to say he's a cheap way to have a recurrying link in the films :cwink:.

That said he didn't do anything cool yet, in Thor he was there to make things more difficult to the protagonists, and when the Destroyer appeared his forces were easily beaten ( i know the destroyer was too powerful for him but this is only an example of how he was more like a normal person that is lucky to be alive than the badass hero fans seem to think he is).

I like Coulson but he's not badass, and you must be blind not to see that he's a cheap link

Coulson rules, okay?

Coulson is the only man on the planet who knows how to kill every member of the Avengers and how to bring them all back from the dead after he offs 'em. His clearance level is so high that no other agent even knows it exists. Fury can't fire Coulson because if he does those photos of him in bed with three hookers and a pygmy goat will surface on the Internet within seconds.

So naturally Coulson threw down with Loki. Any alien who wants to rule the earth goes after the current ruler first. :awesome:

Blah blah blah :cwink:... Everything in context; he's a badass human being, (maybe) not to even Hawkeye levels, but still badass. Could you take out two armed robbers like he did hehehe?

I do expect him to be cool, calm and funny in pretty much anything he does though.

Oh, and awesome things are no less awesome for being cheap :)

But the point is that he's a cheap conection ;)

I'm not gonna lie, I like Coulson and all but all this "he's the most badass character ever" stuff is starting to get annoying because he's really not that special.

Did you see the Coulson short on the Cap DVD? That seemed pretty badass to me.

If there is an 8th avenger .. hopefully it will be a female character. We need more female superheros

I'd have a damn hard time believing that Hiddleston would mistake Coulson as being a superhero.

There's gotta be a heretofore unrevealed cameo in there somewhere. War Machine, again, seems the most logical choice, since he's the only other superhero we *know* about in the MCU; but since some cutting-room floor scenes in Thor referenced Hank Pym, he's a possibility, too. And *if* Skrulls and/or Kree get involved (I don't think they will, but the rumors are still out there), the arrival of Mar-Vell would be completely awesome.

Those, to me, seem the most likely, in that order: War Machine; Hank Pym; Captain Mar-Vell.

It wont be, but how awesome would it be to see captain marvel in the movie. I could imagine us all flipping out after seeing him in a set photo

I would say Pym, considering his history with the team and the production memo that slipped out a few months ago. However, the quality if this evidence ascertains my theory that this has the odds of appearing as Wolverine does in FC2.

Hasn't it already been said several times that there will be no War Machine cameo? Plus with Pym he's kinda locked up with Edgar Wright's Ant Man movie that they're still developing. If Pym was there we'd have surely seen him in the trailers already and heard about his casting.
