Even though Harry is my favorite character, people don't like repetative villains, thats why Sandman is the main villain. They made a good choice in picking Sandman as the main baddie too. Venom is okay, and people are looking forward more to his character, but this movie is all about Sandman for me.

It's not about repetative villains...it's about telling a story.

Were people pissed off when Vader showed up in Empire Strikes Back? Damn! He was back again in Jedi!

Did anyone throw up their hands in protest when Sauron was still heading up all evil in Middle Earth in The Two Towers?

It's a story. You don't change a story just because - you TELL the damn thing. Frankly, in the beginning Raimi should have made a decision - Goblin Legacy or Venom Saga, picked one and made 3 movies BASED on that. Think of how deep routed these characters could have been. Think how much we'd actually care about Brock's reason for revenge and transformation...instead of scaling it down to a case of "Dur he took me girl. Me angry!"

Same goes for the Goblin Legacy - the first two movies worked well, as we saw Harry's continued plummet...now it seems Sam has decided to just make him a pain in Spidey's ass instead of adapting the issue where Harry died! Oh what a film that would have been! Would it have been the Green Goblin again? Yes. Could they tweaked the costume some and made it badass? Yes. Who the hell WOULDNT have loved to see Harry, in costume, stalking Spidey while Pete's out to dinner, or lunch, or WHATEVER.

Instead we're sacrificing story for sheer "The fans want Venom? Put Venom in! I like Sandman myself but he just a **** character so I'll have him kill Uncle Ben...put him in! Oh wait...yeah, that whole Legacy thing...uh...give Harry like..a spoon or a sword or something...eh..I dunno, a black suit. Buckles..uh...snowboard? I dont care!"

The symbiote. I garuntee we'll spend more time with Peter fighting with his dark side more than anything else.

Of the villains Venom is a continuation of evil Peter hence him being the main villain, even if both Harry in Goblin form (whether he is named it or not) and Sandman have more screentime (they are both in 2-3 fights each while Venom is only in one).

We'll see though.

LIL OFF subject, but honestly, we all know Sony watches these boards, and they saw the reaction on here, as well as at Comic Con, about the venom footage, about how syched people are for this film... I doubt we will see alot of Venom in this film, but I got a feeling we will see more of him in the future.... Sony's sitting on a gold mone, there's no way there are going to stop after this one

Spider-Man has an entire rogues gallery. Audiences know this and in general they expect to see a new villain each time.

I love the Goblin story, but I'm satisfied with Harry just being one element of the story here.

About Venom, I doubt he will be in the movie less than 15 min... they've already confirmed that in some point he will kidnap MJ and we also have the battle royale.... I think he'll have at least 30 min of screentime

I know exactly what you mean...basically, the Batman franchise. No thanks. I want plots and storylines, something with substance...not just an excuse to see popular villains on film.

Most likely I think that Sandman will be the main villain in the third film. From watching the teaser trailer and new trailer shown at the Comic-Con he looks awesome and extremely dangerous.

Considering the other 2 movies Harry will be the main villain. If you just take this movie, it will be Sandman first and then Venom in a subtl way until he actually shows up.

None of the poll options.... the main villain of Spider-Man 3 is the symbiote.

The symbiote is the thread that links everything together, and the force really pushing it all into conflict. In this sense some might say Venom is the main villain, but really Venom is just the culmination of the symbiote storyline.

Perhaps - my point is Harry could have held his own without Sandy and Venom added to the mix.

I'm sure the special effects will be amazing nonetheless.

Sandman is the main guy (and will do the most damage).... where do you think "This could be the end of Spiderman" came from... certainly not the ten minute appearance of Venom... Spiderman will have no answers to Sandman for a while... since the water prolly doen't finish him off in the subway...

I mean after all this it should be blatantly obvious Sandman is the villain that Spider-Man will be tangling with the most. Venom will not be showing up until the end.

The symbiote is not Venom. The symbiote on Peter is not Venom. The symbiote on Brock is Venom. And that ain't happening until the end.

Sandman = Main villain.
