Not originally. Meltzer wrote in that at first he tired to emulate Bruce but it didn't fit right so he gave all his money away and travel around the USA with Hates Black People Jordan.

we introduced "fo Schizzel" to the world, brought you Eddie Murphy( the 0ld one before that "Meet Dave" *&^$#) and Flava Flav! Boyeee!.... ok i might see hating us cause of Steve Urkel( that kid got on my nerves too) but come on!
it was more that old "you guys dont care about whats going on in the inner city on earth, cause you are out gallivanting with orange chicks on OA!" Stuff. Luke used it when he joined the Avengers. Bats used it to start the outsiders.
