No trying to be nitpicky, but there are a couple of problems with this list. Firstly, Day of the Dead 2: Contagium should not be included with the Dead series, for the sole reason that it has nothing to do with Day of the Dead or the rest of the Dead series in general. It was a horrendous Direct-to-DVD zombie movie that ripped the name for publicity.

Secondly, both Night of the Living Dead remakes should be included with the Dead series, since:

1. They have nothing to do with Return of the Living Dead.
2. You counted the Dawn and Day remakes as part of the Dead series as well.

Sorry, I'm a stickler for detail. :o

That's an opinion. The fact is, the number '2' in 'Day of the Dead 2' suggests it is part of that series.

The Direct-to-DVD fact means little. A good chunk of the movies in a lot of these series are Direct-to-Video.

I was thinking about using Romero's name for the one series and Russo's for the other, to distinguish. But I don't believe in using names in situations where names aren't used for all participants - That is why 'of the Dead' and 'the Living Dead' are the 2 major dividers with 'Night of the Living Dead' being the only acception due to the fact it IS the prequel to the 'of the Dead' series as well as the "Living Dead Series' but since Romero was the primary creator I think it belongs with the series that has his name on it.

Wouldn't quite say it's a matter of opinion, seeing as the filmmakers made DOTD2 without any consent or knowledge on the part of the makers of the original Day of the Dead, making it an unofficial sequel. The fact is that the movie, as a whole, has nothing in common with the first besides the name. The '2' was tacked on to trick fanboys into buying it. Lumping it in with the rest of the Dead series would be equivalent to lumping a Nightmare on Elm Street fan film in with the official series, or determining that "Titanic 2" is part of James Cameron's Titanic solely because it added a number to the title.

I would agree with you on this if it weren't for one detail: Romero's original was acknowledged as a work of fiction based on a real event in Return of the Living Dead, meaning that NOTLD is not a prequel to the rest of the 'Living Dead' movies, rather a movie within a movie. That being said, I see no reason as to why the NOTLD remakes can't be listed with the original, since they are remakes of the first film in the 'Dead' series.

In regards to the discussion about the Dead series and which films should be included, for me if it's not made from Romero then it's a seperate series that were cheap DTV films.

When are the next voting selections going to start?

This.

In fact, the '90 remake of Night was produced by Romero and he hand picked Tom Savini to direct.

When are the next voting selections going to start?
