Why are people so easily amused by crap on the Internet?

I don't understand why clips of that "Secret Life of the American Teenager" are always featured on the home page of YouTube. Watched the show once out of curiosty and it's unbelievably horrible.

Yeah, it is quite awful. The plot had potential, but the acting and execution is horrid.

It's because we've become a society whose sole purpose is to escape boredom. Its both a hilarious and sad irony that one of the most popular PC games is the Sims, where you play people who eat, sleep, poop, and go to work. Few people have passions and get up to do anything constructive anymore, as we're always looking for constant distraction and place importance in things which are totally frivolous. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to go complain about how Batman's ears are too long.

Sometimes when flicking through things on the 'net I'm amazed by the kinds of things people find entertaining. From lame lolcats to boring ass videos of people trying to be funny.

Case in point, 21 accents on youtube...



How does something so crap get 741,829 views, a high star rating, and nothing but nice comments? It's not even slightly amusing. She just says the same phrase slightly altered over and over and over in different accents that are all annoying coming out of her mouth.

Here's another one of her vids.



It's literally just 3 minutes of her pretending to get ready while listening to music. 26,101 views. Someone left the comment, "Damn this girl's talented." What the hell are you talking about?!??!? Talented how?? I, on the other hand, left the comment "Amy Walker, why do you upload these boring videos?".

If she is an actress, she must not have a lot of luck getting roles.

I mean, if she's resorting to promoting herself on youtube she must be getting desperate.

That made my week. I never knew Kaine spends his weekends dressed up as Spidey. I hope you don't use this tactic for the women, Kaine.

But eh, it's all a matter of preference. I find Terry Tate's Linebacker videos hilarious, whilst some might not get that kind of humour.
